Coastal Crust used to be one of our favorites until we had an awful experience last night. After waiting in the front for almost five minutes, the host finally came to put us on the wait. We told him we were okay sitting anywhere including the bar, which was only about half sat at the time. He told us it would still be about a 30 minute wait for our party of two and sent us on our way. The party of two in line behind us, he immediately sat at the bar. I saw this and checked in with him, to confirm that we were okay with and would happily sit at the bar, as there were still open seats there, after seeing him sit people there that arrived after us. His response was, ‘I’m not a host and I got confused.’ I’m not sure what that means exactly, but just a frustrating way to start off the night. After waiting a bit longer, we were sat at a table. Our waitress came up and took our drink order and everything was going fine. When she took our food order, we had finished our water and she took the bottle, after she had commented on how small the table was and there wasn’t much room, so freeing up space on the table for our plates. We never received any more water the rest of the night and had empty drinks for the rest of our time there. Our food took over 30 minutes to arrive, which I could understand if busy, but tables who were sat and ordered well after us received their pizzas before we received our pizza and salad. It definitely seemed like our waitress forgot about us and our food. The salad was great, but our pizza was underdone in the middle and lukewarm when we got it. We would have said something about it, but we never saw our waitress after she dropped the food off at the table. Eventually after completing the salad and only eating 2 slices of the pizza, a different waitress asked if we would like a box. We let her know our issues with the pizza and asked if it could just be taken off the tab seeing as how we had waited so long for our food the first time around and no longer wanted to wait another 30 minutes. Our waitress finally reappeared again only to deliver the bill. Overall, just very...
Read moreI had pretty high expectations of this restaurant... planned on visiting here for at least 3 weeks. Finally the day came and I was hungry with an appetite ready to get myself a glass of wine and enjoy a Golden crust pizza.
So here's one of my initial impressions. The lady who greeted me seemed agitated. in fact I got that vibe all throughout the interaction and I could not tell if this lady does not have communication skills or if she judges customers as they walk in the door.
Anyway I came for the pizza, not the service. So I ordered myself a farmer's pi based on her recommendation. First of all she did not say this thing does not have any sauce whatsoever.
The toppings are very sparse. with each bite you can't really make out if you're eating a topping or if you're eating the dough it all tastes the same. the toppings are so thin and so light that they just blend away into the pizza. When I commented this with the hostess she responded with some ego implying we know how to do pizza better than you. (by the way they don't really do any kind of toppings substitutions and if you ask them for substitution she will give you a grumpy look like u have no taste and their pies are absolutely exquisite as is)
so the crust was good. wish there was actually more substance to the toppings. Service was not friendly or welcoming. Restaurant should really think about changing their hostess because it reflects very poorly on the establishment.
By the way I asked her if she has tea available.... and with the most arrogant reply she said no we don't do tea here
in comparison my go-to is blaze Pizza and I always have such a great experience there and I get so much more value for my money. (I paid double for the pie vs blaze pizza)
Curiosity satisfied ... will not return again.
P.S after posting i scrolled thru other 1-2 star reviews, they echo my observation about lack of communication skills of the hostess and the poor toppings ratio to cheese/dough. Several customers received burned crusts and they were told "this is how pizza is...
Read moreCoastal Crust continues to prove why it’s one of the best pizza spots around, striking that balance between dependable go-to dishes and creative surprises. We started with our tried-and-true favorite, the Fig & Prosciutto Pizza, which never disappoints. The crust is perfectly blistered from the oven — crisp on the outside yet airy inside — and the combination of salty prosciutto with the sweetness of fig feels indulgent and balanced at once. It’s the kind of pizza that anchors the menu, one you can come back to again and again.
On the side, the Brussels sprouts deserve just as much attention. They arrive roasted to perfection, edges caramelized for that earthy sweetness, while still carrying enough crunch to keep each bite satisfying. A simple dish, but executed with real care.
This visit also gave us a chance to try something new: the limited-edition Smoked Balsamic Chicken Pizza. Absolutely fabulous. The smoky depth of the chicken paired beautifully with the tang of balsamic, and the flavors layered together in a way that was both bold and comforting. It’s one of those limited runs you instantly wish they’d add to the permanent lineup — creative, satisfying, and memorable.
What makes Coastal Crust stand out isn’t just the quality of ingredients or the wood-fired magic of their pies, but the consistency with which they create an atmosphere of good food and good energy. Whether you’re sticking with a classic or venturing into their seasonal specials, you can always count on leaving...
