This is my second time visiting Jaggers. The first time we went through the drive thru and ordered cheeseburgers, tots and sodas. Burgers were average, tots were were so coated with spice they were orange, (however, they were crispy), and the drinks were so full, that when you put the straw in them, soda poured out. We chalked this up to the place being brand new and decided we would give them a try in a few months.
After seeing several advertisements for the chicken cobb salad, we decided to give them a second try. The information from our receipt is as follows:
05/17/2025 4:20 pm, guest 97, Host Sydney, number under time 10127. Order: 1 each grilled chicken cobb salad with ranch, 1 each double green chili cheeseburger, and regular fries.
Order: Server was polite and prompt to help us. Restaurant was clean. Food was served in a reasonable amount of time. Salad was served with two containers of dressing and a fork and a knife. Burger and fries were served with three packs of ketchup
Double Green Chili Cheeseburger: Bun top greasy (intentionally made this way - its their style). Sauce was overwhelmingly salty overpowering any other flavor on the burger. Meat - tasted like a box store meat patties. Overall flavor of meat was flat.
Fries: Cold and hard. Covered in spice. Didn't taste like they are made out of potatoes - maybe they taste better if they aren't so cold and hard.
Grilled Chicken Cobb Salad with Ranch: The ranch dressing was thick and has SUGAR in it. It tastes almost like it has Miracle Whip in it. It does not taste like ranch. Size of a side salad. Barely any lettuce - I had more carrot than lettuce. Had more than adequate around of egg, chicken and tomato. Egg and tomato overwhelmed the salad, because the lack of lettuce. Literally tasted more like egg salad because of the dressing and egg. Very little avocado and the avocado was not the freshest. Chicken was warm, not hot, and was standard fast food grilled chicken with blackening spice on one side. Some pieces had excessive spice.
Overall, another failed meal at Jaggers. The greasy burger bun trend needs to go away. Who wants to hold a greasy bun? It is not like it is adding to the flavor. Additionally, the fries were a total miss and there was NO ONE in line when we came and only one table ahead of us. No reason to be making fries in advance. The $9 burger depends on the sauce for flavor and the meat is average box store meat.
Additionally, the sugar content of their salad dressing is VERY HIGH.
Common sense says if you are customer in a burger place, ordering a salad, you are OBVIOUSLY doing so for a reason. My $9+ dollar side salad, which I asked for with no bacon and no cheese, (the most expensive items), had no lettuce, (the least expensive item). The burger had more lettuce on it than my salad did. Furthermore, why on earth you would put that much sugar in the salad dressing? We went to Jaggers specifically so I could have this salad and this dressing completely ruined it and skyrocketed my blood sugar. Why on earth would you take the savory taste of ranch dressing and turn it into the equivalent of a dessert.
In fairness, perhaps this is a regional thing from where this franchise comes from or perhaps I was given the wrong thing, because it tasted nothing like ranch and very much like a sandwich spread, (I received two clear plastic containers with lids, filled with the dressing).
If this is the way you make your dressing, there needs to be a warning on it for diabetics and dieters. If you are ordering salad in a burger place, I can guarantee you that you do not want sugar in your...
Read moreMy husband and I went to the Greenville Jagger Restaurant on 11/30 around 7pm for the first time with excitement. We waited in line, the cashier took our order, and then a young man gave us our bag of food with condiments and utensils on top. With urgency, we rushed home to eat to notice we had the wrong food. No worries, we live in Greenville so we took it back. The same cashier stated they would make sure that they would correct the order, so we sat down. We waited, and we waited for almost another hour, until I started to get tired. I approached the cashier, and she stated let me get the lead person. The Caucasian lead person stated I'm sorry would you like to come back, our fry and tot machine is down. I stated no, I would just like to get a refund. We had already waited over 3 hours. She stated, " You can't get a refund unless you brought you food on the same day." " I expressed I purchased food today." " If you would just look at the receipt, that is in the bag with the food we brought back, that would explain why we are now tired and ready to leave." She started to try to find our order on the computer, and could not find it, so she went to the back. She did not state wait, I would be back, she just left us standing at the counter. I was going to leave to get my card so they could just place the money back on the card, when I notice the lead person speaking with an employee and had a receipt in her hand. The African American gentleman came and stated he did not know why he was sent to tell us they were sorry about the mix-up and he was going to give us a coupon for our trouble. Maybe because we are African Americans. The Caucasian lead personnel never apologized, and they sent an African American cook that gave us a coupon that states you must have a 25 dollar gift card to receive a free entree purchase after stating we would receive a complimentary coupon for waiting for over 3 hours for food we never received at our first experience at Jagger in Greenville. Please, Please check your take out food orders, and check your food when they bring it to the table. The wait time is not worth it if you have the wrong food. Just get your refund or if you are extremely hungry eat the food they gave you. It will truly save you alot of time and effort. My son was heart-broken because he was looking forward to a Jagger burger. I told him sorry, but it was not meant for us to eat burgers, but somewhere else instead. Signed, Disappointed first time...
Read moreI ordered a Cobb salad online today from Jaggers in Greenville, NC. It was the first time I’ve eaten here. After I placed my order I got an email instructing me to hit the “I’m here” button in the email as soon as I arrived. The response I got said they were beginning to prepare my meal for me. When I walked inside to the online desk and gave them my name, I was immediately handed my order. I had ordered the salad along with shoestring fries and cheese sauce on the side.
When I got out to the car, I realized the french fries and the cheese sauce were extremely cold. Clearly they had both been sitting there at the Pick Up desk for 10 to 15 minutes. I would assume the whole reason of notifying them of your arrival was that they would THEN begin to prepare hot foods (such as french fries and hot cheese sauce) or prepare your drink; so that ice isn’t sitting there melting for 10 minutes before you arrive.
But this isn’t their plan for good food service; or certainly isn’t the way they trained their employees. I absolutely will never order online food from them again. In fact, I’m not likely to ever return there again to eat. It’s a "no-brainer" to serve people hot french fries and hot cheese sauce, whether you are dining in, picking up, or driving thru to get your food. It would’ve taken them less than a minute to prepare fresh hot french fries and cheese sauce, and add them to my salad in the bag. I’m willing to wait two minutes for hot food.
I guess I just don’t understand the concept of letting them know you’ve arrived with them responding that they are "preparing your food for you" upon your arrival and yet my food had clearly been sitting there for 10 to 15 minutes.
The salad was good, but nothing about Jaggers would entice me to return again.
You can’t beat McDonald’s for excellent hot french fries. Besides they’re cheaper anyway. And the cold, congealed, cheese sauce wasn’t worth the...
