I arrived at 9:58pm for 10pm showing. I hadn’t been to this theater since I was a teenager years ago. While in town visiting, my friend wanted to see a movie.
What stood out was the self serve popcorn! I had never seen that at a movie theater before! It was so cool! You buy the popcorn bucket and then go get your own popcorn and you can add butter as well. There is NON STOP POPCORN! You can just go back and refill. The popcorn prices were typical, in my opinion.
They have hot food as well but it stops at 10pm. They also sell beer and wine. I got lucky and the staff let me get good. I ordered boneless garlic parm wings and fries. You can come back to get it or have it brought to your seat, shin is what I did. I received the food in 9 mins. The fries were HOT! The wings were an appropriate temperature And they tasted decent. I like my wings saucy and wasn’t that. The prices for the hot food is actually affordable!
The concessions staff member, a young, black male, was very friendly, helpful, and patient. I am unsure of his name but my visit was on 1/17/24. Receipt says clerk ID 6, if that helps to identify him. I appreciate his customer service :)
The movie started about 10 mins after showtime, which is quick ! Left to go to the restroom as I’m used to 30 min previews. My friend told me the movie started as soon as I left. I love the promptness! I wish this type of movie theater was in the city where I live!
The seats were clean and they reclined. They have little trays with cup holders for your food, which was awesome! When I was booking the tickets, I saw they even have love seat type seating on the bottom row for couples. That is so awesome and cool.
When I’m in town visiting again, I would most definitely stop by here if there’s a movie playing I want to see! I will note that we looked at 2 different movies and the other move cost $5 more which was confusing. It wasn’t a 3D or specialty type of...
Read moreIt's hard to say if this was a bad movie-going experience - I make my own enjoyment out of any situation I'm in, and I was able to have a good time today, but I will never be returning to a Golden Ticket theater again, let alone the one in Greenville, North Carolina. I went to see "Long Legs" by myself and was greeted by an empty theater – which I don't mind at all. Some of my best movie-going experiences have been in completely empty theaters with no other viewers; I don't need company to have a good time watching a movie. Within five minutes, I had to start convincing myself of ways to have a good time. The aspect ratio was, at least, thank God, accurate enough, but the color grading was off for the entire movie. There were non-stop digital artifacts that never really lowered in intensity, many of which were color-related and took me out of the movie-going experience multiple times. On top of that, at one of the climax points of the movie, the lights came on and began flickering for the duration of the movie – about an hour, maybe a little less. Given that it was a horror movie, it added a certain something to the ambiance, but I definitely wasn't looking to be scared to be present in the theater when I went to go see this horror movie. Life is scary enough without needing to find ways to be more terrified of things. One of the only other people to come into the movie room with me practically ran out of the theater once the movie ended. Given the outrageous prices for both tickets and concessions, The trash and popcorn everywhere inside the theater room, and the barely average movie-going experience, I would recommend anyone thinking about seeing a film to either wait and do it in the comfort and pleasure of your own home or try the AMC. Avoid Golden Ticket at all costs, and your wallet will thank you, as well...
Read moreI’m glad we tried this place! Everyone always seems to go to AMC but this theater is much cleaner and the seats are more comfortable! They aren’t sticky, cracking or noisy like the ones at the other theater. Of course this location is newer. We went to see Twisters in the Elite theater so I can’t say how the experience is in the standard one but we were happy with it in our theater. You could feel the sound and the screen was large and clear for picture quality. Overall a good movie watching experience! The line moved quickly to get our concessions beforehand and I like the option to fill your own popcorn bucket and drinks. We bought our tickets ahead of time online and reserved our seats. Getting our popcorn and getting to our seats went smoothly. The movie started on time but they did forget to dim the lights like one other reviewer mentioned. No big deal though. My husband went out and told someone so they immediately turned them off and the rest of the movie was fine. I would have given 5 stars if they cut the lights on time. I think they might be understaffed or they’re still figuring some things out. We will be coming here for movies from now on in Greenville because this theater is cleaner and more comfortable than the other...
