We were a party of 3 and sat promptly as there was no line. The hostess set the rolls/butter on our table. When our server came over to introduce herself and take drink orders, we asked for silverware (needed to spread the butter). I ordered a glass of wine. She asked if I'd like the Texas pour of which I declined and asked for the regular pour. (I'm assuming this pour would be 4oz or 6oz seeing as the Texas pour is 9oz). She brought the other 2 drinks over and took our orders. Still no silverware, we did ask again. She said they were all going through the dishwasher. (other newly seated tables received theirs). The server then brought my wine. This was not a 4oz pour or a 6oz pour. Maybe 3oz at best. I asked her what size the pour was supposed to be. She went and asked the bartender and came back. She said it is a 6oz pour. I explained to her that the pour wasn't even 4oz. Seeing as she is not the bartender, I didn't give her attitude about it. She asked if something was wrong and I said that it wasn't even a 4oz pour but that it was okay. She came back a little bit later and said that the reason my glass of wine wasn't their normal pour was because the bartender ran out of that particular wine and didn't have any other bottles to top it off with and that is the reason I received less than I should. I thanked her for her honesty. At this point, seeing as I received half the glass of what I should have received, I assumed there would be a discount on the bill for the wine or it would have been taken back as I hadn't touched it and the option given for a different wine. It took over an hour for our food to come out. We watched others being seated, ordering and receiving their food. (they had different servers and before you say we were being rude, that wasn't the case. We saw her doing this to her other tables) When our food finally came out, both the steak on my salad and my husbands prime rib were cool. You could tell by the look of the meat the plates sat under the warmers. We were all starving and didn't complain. Our server then disappeared again. We decided to use the tablet on the table to pay our bill. My less than 4oz of wine cost just under $10. Full price. We never did eat the rolls seeing as we didn't get silverware until our food came out and the rolls were cold. As I was paying the bill, I was trying to zero out the tip on the tablet as we were leaving a cash tip. The tablet kept freezing up and we couldn't tell if it took off the automatic 20% tip it added. I had already swiped my card. The server came back over and asked if we were all set. I explained that the tablet froze and I couldn't get back to the prior screen. She reached across my husband and hit the complete or final button on the tablet and said, now you're all set, no worries, I'll print you a receipt. At that point I was completely aggravated. She had no clue, no customer service and probably should look into other options for work. For the record, I have worked in the restaurant industry and my daughter is a college student and waits tables. For this reason I am very understanding, the job isn't always easy and everyone has a bad day. But if you have time to stand at the bar and laugh while looking at your phone, you just don't care. When I'm paying a $100 bill the experience is just as much about the service as it is...
Read moreWhen you first enter they have a small building you stop at to register for a table so that you do not have to exit your vehicle until you are called to be seated. I thought that was pretty interesting since I am from Rocky Mount and we do not have anything like that around here. The staff and our waitress were all amazing. Our party consisted of my son, my mother, and my self. We visited for my son's bday and the server did not hesitate to get some ladies together to sing for him. It absolutely made his day. There was tvs all around with sports, but being I am not a sports fan I loved how they have music videos also playing on televisions for the songs playing thought the restaurant. When you first enter your server will ask you if you would personally like to choose your own steak before being seated. They have a beautiful large bar, and a large seating area throughout the restaurant. I loved how the manager walked through to ask customers how they were enjoying their visit. I can't even remember the last time I have seen management take the time to check in and speak with the customers. She not only wanted to know how our visit was going but if there was anything she could do for us. Our server was super busy but she was on it and there with no hesitation. I wish I had gotten names and pictures of our visit since I would say that it was the best restaurant I have visited in a very long time. It's nice to actually see a place and it's employees take pride within their business and care about their customers. I worked at Western Sizzlin steak house for 7 years within different positions including server. I know how hard it can be to please customers. My mother is actually one of those customers. She is huge on her sweet tea running out, but like I said even though our server was busy she was on it! She earned herself a $20 tip from my mother and I have never seen my mother tip anyone $20, and especially not for only two adults and a child. It was all around a great experience. Now for the one negative thing. Sorry y'all but I gotta say it. I was next to the window and they blinds were filthy, and the windows and window sills needed cleaning. Now I do own my own cleaning business so things like that stick out to me. I would just suggest not to let your little one have the window seat if you are concerned about little hands touching some yucky looking stuff. But that alone will not keep me from returning. The good totally over ridded that one bad. Thank y'all for a...
Read moreFiance and I came in today we were talking about different appetizers and the waitress just started writing them down (we hadn't decided) but she kept writing.. She really didn't pay attention. We ordered 2 16 oz ribeyes and we picked our own steaks. Mine was supposed to be extra extra rare with mushrooms, onions and cheese. His was medium Rare gravy mushrooms and onions. Of course my steak was over cooked, I walked with the waitress to pick out another steak and the grill guy just grabbed any steak. I told her I didn't want a lot of fat because my stomach can't handle it. IT DIDN'T MATTER SHE DIDN'T SAY ANYTHING TO HIM!! Steak comes back to me and it's so salty I sent it BACK. Next one was fatty. No apologies or anything from the waitress Cora. Then I asked if anything was going to be done for the messed up steaks, she tells me that since I am taking them home NO. I guess it didn't matter that it took almost 30 minutes to get an extra extra rare steak, and that my Fiancés food was ice cold by the time I got my food. (He waited for mine to come out), or that by the time my steak came out I was too frustrated to eat. Also I ordered a sweet potato and I got a regular potato. I also said NO cinnamon and of course it had it.. Cora just let the plates we were done with (salad, bread, plates from messed up steaks) pile up, even though I stacked them for her. Just to sum it up, it was just ridiculous!!! SERVICE HAS SEVERELY GONE DOWN HILL STRAIGHT TO HELL. I MEAN HOW HARD IS IT TO COOK AN EXTRA EXTRA RARE STEAK AND NOT TO PUT CINNAMON ON A SWEET POTATO!!! THIS IS LIKE THE 3 TIME IN A ROW WE HAVE HAD TERRIBLE SERVICE FROM THE STAFF AND MANAGERS. Tonight the Manager acted like we were trash, that our complaints weren't legitimate and we were wasting her time!! As much as we love the food, when it is right I DON'T THINK WE WILL BE BACK FOR A LONG LONG TIME. Had we had a decent Server they would have gladly gotten a $30.00 tip!! But we didn't have one. I was going to come back later on in the week and get the family meal to go, but with the way the food and service was.. I'll pass!!! I know for a fact that WE WILL DEFINITELY BE GOING TO LONGHORN AND SPENDING OUR MONEY THERE INSTEAD!! BY FAR THE WORST FOOD AND SERVICE ( STAFF AND MANAGEMENT) EVER!!! HERE IS ALL OF THE FAT FROM MY 16 OZ STEAK👇👇👇SECOND PIC IS ALL OF THE STEAK LEFT ON A 16 OZ AFTER...
