I have never been to Smoothie King but today was my first and last time. I had an interview, and once entering the establishment, a foul smell hit my nose. I wanted to walk right out. I'm not sure how you all get smoothies from there, but I would never get a smoothie from there if it smells like that in there because I used to work at Starbucks, and my guess is they aren't cleaning the drains that the liquid fall into and you suppose to do that every night. So if they aren't taking the time to clean them every night, how do I know you are all taking the time to clean? Anyhow I still was going to go through with the interview because I assumed it would be quick. The lady behind the counter wasn't friendly, so the online reviews about customer service were correct. I google before accepting an interview, but I wanted to be the judge of that myself. She told me to sit down, and I assumed I was waiting for someone named Mike, but he wasn't anywhere in sight. I waited 10mins, and the lady came from behind the counter and gave me a paper application. So, filling out that application, I would have to be there for an additional 10 mins... Oh no, I ran out that door so fast. So because of the smell and customer service, they missed out on a good employee, and I would have come up with ways to help them get rid of that awful smell in there because it's embarrassing to work in an environment that smell. The blonde-haired manager on duty displayed outright hostility: she did not greet me, rolled her eyes, and gave me a dismissive, inappropriate look. After preparing my order, she went outside to her car where she openly vaped and spoke on the phone about me. When she returned, she reeked of vape and marijuana, creating a serious health and safety concern.
To make matters worse, the product I was served was of extremely poor quality — it tasted foul and carried the same odor. This raises significant questions about sanitation, contamination, and whether proper food safety protocols are being followed.
The fact that this individual is in a management position is alarming. Smoothie King corporate should be aware that this is not just a customer service issue but a potential liability. This employee’s behavior damages the brand’s reputation, violates basic health standards, and could warrant involvement from local health authorities.

When I got there to pick it up, I was told they were out of acai mix. The guy working said he couldnt do refunds and I would have to wait for the manager to do it when she returned to work in two days. It's crazy that they dont have anyone handle that. I called two days later and asked for the manager. Although the manager was working, she wouldn't take the call and had the employee take a message. When I explained what happened the employee said it would take 7-10 days for the refund to show up. I told her I still would like to be notified by the manager when the refund had actually been done, so I wasnt waiting 7-10 days only to find out that she forgot or didnt do it for some reason and then have to wait even longer.
