Glad I came across this place! It's down the street from a business mastermind I go to twice a month, and I've started leaving the house early so each time I can stop in here and grab a latte and chill for a while beforehand.

The coffee is spot-on, the atmosphere is relaxed and pleasant, and the baristas are great. As an example: like I mentioned I'm only in here a couple times per month, and naturally there's different staff on duty on different days. Even so, last time I was there the barista apologized for not remembering my name. Like, I couldn't even tell you when the last time I saw HER was, but she clearly recognized me and felt the need to apologize for not remembering my name. How thoughtful can you get?!

And, to top it all off, they're a local company rather than a worldwide behemoth, so you can feel good about spending your money here.

There's also a really interesting timeline of the history of coffee painted on the wall, which explains where the name Monk & Mongoose came from.

Thanks guys! Looking forward to many more...

I am a big advocate on helping baristas get better by letting them know when their drink is not good.

I have been coming to the location consistently for the last 2 years, but recently the new baristas I have seen in there on the weekends need some more “practice” and focus on making the drink first and talk to each other later. Coffee should be made with intentionally not rushed.

I also came in the day before and the same barista clearly heard my order and she still got it wrong and said she “I thought you wanted it iced”…I was the only customer she had to help that day as well..

🤨 I’ll be back but definitely don’t want this location to decline in quality baristas..because this location has been too easy come to.. I really don’t want to have to drive to the other location just because the current baristas are getting paid...

I recently had the pleasure of experiencing outstanding customer service at this establishment. The staff was incredibly attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure that my dining experience was exceptional.

Not only was the customer service top-notch, but I was also thoroughly impressed by the drink menu. The selection was diverse and well-curated, offering a variety of options to suit every taste preference. The staff took the time to explain the different drinks and even offered recommendations based on my preferences.

Overall, I left feeling incredibly satisfied with my visit and will definitely be returning in the future. The combination of exceptional customer service and a fantastic drink menu makes this establishment one of the best I've been to....

OMG. Their coffee is to die for, but I recently discovered something called a Lavender London Fog. With their homemade syrups this was leveled up to a place I have only achieved in my own kitchen (I brew my Earl Grey extra strong with a Vanilla Bean, Some Lavender buds and sweeten with raw local honey—hard to top that!). Wait a few minutes for the extra strong steep and do add the lavender. It tastes so good!!!! Monk and Mongoose, as always, delivers perfection!!!! Oh how I have missed this place! Seattle has nothing on the Mile High City when it comes to noteworthy craft coffee and craft tea concoctions!!!! Order it just like the pic. Can’t wait to spend my coffee/tea allowance with you guys when we get back permanently!!! Special thanks to Emma, Barista Extraordinaire!!!!

Lol! You have to spend $100 here to earn enough points to get a free espresso beverage. So that's 27 cortados to get a free cortado. Feels like a slap in the face, a cruel joke, or perhaps just a treatise on the dark side of post-Covid capitalism. Ultimately the espresso here ranges pretty widely based on the barista (not as much for the other Monk & Mongoose). Inconsistency takes Sweet Bloom's otherwise mighty fine roast and turns it into a mediocre beverage on more than half of my visits, and the milk (like most places) is a cheap selection even though it comprises 50% or more of all espresso-based drinks. The staff have always been friendly although sometimes inattentive or simply busy and missing in the back early morning, facility always clean.

OMG, this place nailed it. Monk & Mongoose is a busy little cafe. They have an assortment of teas and coffee drinks. I ordered the iced Chai with honey water and it was deliciously sweet. The tea was light, creamy and the cinnamon powdered ice cubes added the perfect amount of flavor & spice. I also had a chocolate chip scone which was not too sweet and crumbled up nicely so that I could eat it in pieces. I didn’t notice the full selection of tea choices until after I had ordered but I would definitely stop by again when in the neighborhood to try out other selections.
