Attention George Hill (Managing Partner), I truly hope you read this review in its entirety because it's an honest review and my last two experiences at your restaurant.
I have been a loyal customer of this location and have been coming back for many years (since it opened), but not so sure I will be moving forward. Even though I live two minutes away, I'm going to start going to the Southport road location. The last couple visits have been bad, specifically the service or lack there of and how I was treated as a customer by your staff. It's all been downhill since Kenny left and with Eddie as the Manager but I'm sure you already know that.
Recent Visit: The food is good like always and it's a good value, but why out of salad at 7:45pm on a Sunday night? Our server (Trinity) was not nice or rude, never smiled or said thank you (I made sure to let her know she was welcome though). She made my wife and I feel rushed, like we were bothering her by just being there. I had to get up twice to go ask someone else for things (a spoon for chilli and a water refill). Do better Trinity or find another type of job not dealing with people.
Last Visit: It was a busy Saturday later afternoon/early evening. We had a party of 6 with 2 kids. Followed their online checkin procedure. Received a text and were told our tables ready and to come in. Checked in with the hostess she told us we would be seated momentarily. There was hardly nowhere to stand and wait but manged to find a little space and we waited for about 10 minutes. Keep in mind, this is following your online check-in procedure where we sent a text from the parking lot saying that we were here and then received a text telling us your table is ready come see the hostess. We had a 5 and 9 year old and they were in the way and could not stand still so my mother is law took them outside the front door. About 5 minutes later I went back up to the hostess to ask if we were going to be seated, she stated they're online system was messed up and that it would be about another 20 minutes. I asked her if we should go outside, and she said yes. Then about 20 minutes later we were told a table was ready and asked if all of our party was there. I told her yes, and that the kids are outside the front door with their grandmother because there's no room for them to stand in here, she then put the menu's away and told me that we would be seated when our whole party was there. I explained to her that our whole party had been there, standing waiting inside for about 35 minutes by now after we received the text saying or table was ready, gather your party and come inside quickly and that the kids went outside with their grandmother because they're 5 and 9, have a tough time standing still and out of people's way, and there's literally no room to stand anywhere. So I literally walked out the front door had them walk back inside, went back up to the hostess and told her our party is all here and we are ready to be seated. We then stood there for another 10 minutes. By this time I am frustrated and angry and ready to leave but was already committed and everyone else was starving. When I left, I went and explained to Eddie (the Manager) everything that had happened and he literally looked at me like I was not speaking English and had no apologies, just stated that is their policy regarding seating a party. I guess he couldn't grasp two young kids had to go outside because his restaurant had nowhere for all of us to wait and the fact that their kids and can't stand still out of peiples way when the only place for us to wait is at the front where people are coming and going? Eddie should also not work in a position where he deals with people...

Waited to be seated and actually had to interrupt the host from whatever conversation she was having with other co- worker to get seated. We asked to be seated in the bar. We wanted a booth. Though others were seated in booth's the very available one we wanted was told there was no one available to wait on our table there so that table was unavailable. So I asked to be moved to Dining room. I ordered an appetizer that was served soggy and cold.
A long island ice tea Consist of sugar syrup or gomme syrup, vodka, gin, tequila, white rum, lemon juice triple sec a splash of cola. what we got was several kinds of whiskey mixed in a glass with soda water and called a LIT. when we order a LIT we expect the above proper drink. not the over-served drink that was served to us. Our house salad was served with the smallest tomatoes, I have ever seen. Smaller than the size of the tip of my pinky finger. To me that is not appetizing for the amount of money spent on the food.
We ordered our meal and waited for our food at about 11:59 we saw other people that came in after us getting there food rather quickly. Then we asked our waitress where our food was and she said it wasn't up yet then went to check. We waited and waited and finally got the manager.
We ordered the smothered chicken with portabella mushrooms. and a fully loaded baked potato and a New york 8 0z steak with a fully loaded baked potato. The manager said sometimes it takes longer to be served depending on order. Were in a steak house restaurant it took extra time to do that. Which was an lame excuse for her staff being lazy. She defended the bad service with bad excuses. Instead of correcting her staff. ( AKA our waitress)
She did discount our meal and I do appreciate that however let me just say as someone who has waited tables before. The waitress neglected to put our order in at a reasonable time and then tried to cover her own rear by making it look like we were expecting too much.
Service today is ridiculous. Bad service is expected to be tipped anyway. Food has gotten more skimpy for the over price of the food rather than doing things right in the first place. No we did not leave a tip for bad service. We asked our food to go after the wait. We sat there 10 min more waiting for her to bag it up. Finally we got our food home. The smothered chicken was more sprinkled lightly not smothered at all with portobello mushroom sauce the fully loaded baked potatoes were sent home with the loaded part that was not on the potato. Just sectioned out. The cheese in the little cups was filled with literally 5 strands of cheese. The other stuff that goes on the potato was extremely small amounts to the extent that it would not have loaded the potato at all.
Going out on a date with my husband turned into a mess. I was very disappointed in the entire experience. My husband had to sit in the truck because he was extremely upset by the whole experience. Not worth the money...
Read moreWe love Texas Roadhouse for its usual consistency of great food at least until yesterday. We always feel like it’s money worth spending until yesterday. We were there early evening. Our server was excellent until we received awful food. She then ghosted us probably b/c she knew she should not have served it. The worst part was the replacement was just as bad, and we had to wait a long time to get it. We politely thanked her, paid with a generous tip, and went home to throw it away. I should have spent that $100 at the grocery. Also, a manager should have visited us. No one in sight.
My husband ordered an appetizer as a meal. Potatoes were hard, burned and dried like they were reused. The wings were NOT wings. They were little pieces of breading and crust from the edge of what used to be a wing. Like the bottom of a fry basket…Gross. My steak was flat, hard, dry and way over cooked. Why would you squish down a petite filet like a smash burger? Twice!?! My husband politely said that maybe they have new kitchen staff. Ok, but who is teaching and supervising the meals that go out?
No offer to speak to a manager is a bad sign. I am sad to say that there would have to be a major change to return to this location. We used to love you and count on you for an end of busy week treat. I don’t usually post, but I feel that I was not given a choice. If 2 meals go back to the kitchen, a manager should be all over that with service recovery not leaving your server to try to fumble through it. She managed to say ‘keep your potato. We will give you a new one.’
Given that Texas Roadhouse has a special family memory for us, we know how it should be ran. Unfortunately, as a leader, you are no longer meeting expectations. I hope this inspires you to step it up a bit. Money is hard to come by these days, and we are becoming quite particular about how and where...
