Culvers is usually a favorite, especially for the fast food category. Unfortunately, this one is pretty disappointing; especially considering we just moved to the area & we're excited to be right down the road from one versus a 30 minute drive from before. We've ordered curbside twice, with poor experiences.
The first time, ordered 3 shakes. I pulled into the curbside spot & clicked the "I'm Here". They were a little busy, so I gave them some time. After 20 minutes, I started to wonder if I did something wrong or it didn't go through? So I pulled the email back up & clicked again... 15 minutes & still nothing. I went in & said something. Apparently the lady who received the notification that we were there, pulled our shakes out & left them on the counter - didn't say or do anything else, didn't notify anyone. The younger cashier lady with short brown hair apologized and gave me a coupon for free. I figured things happened & everyone makes mistakes.
Now we just ordered curbside for the second time & it was a different issue this time. First we were shorted 1 chocolate shake & my son's Sierra Mist - for some reason, we were only given the chocolate shake but not the Sierra Mist? Then one of our shakes had strawberries mixed in & wasn't the size we ordered - it was a small, when we paid for a large (again, not a big deal if that was the only thing). Plus they were busy so mistakes happen. So I went in and returned the shake - it was the wrong size and had strawberries mixed in, plus we were missing my son's Sierra Mist. The cashier tried to fix the problem and quickly make the shake, except the manager stopped her and wanted to question why it was being returned. The cashier then returned with a chocolate shake in the same size but no Sierra Mist. Instead of making a scene and complaining while they are busy, I just left and decided to leave a Google review. I will drive to the Franklin location, the next time my son wants Culver's.
If you like being forgotten about & waiting 30+ minutes for your order.. receiving the wrong food.. and paying for food/sizes that you don't receive, then this Culver's location is for you! Otherwise, I'd pass on this one & drive to the Franklin location where you receive excellent friendly service, all the food that you order & pay for, and receive your order within a timely manner! Very disappointed...
Read moreLet me start by saying, I'm a Culver's fan and have eaten there all over the Midwest. This review is only for this location, which is not a banner representation of the franchise.
On average, this location has gotten my order right approximately 15% of the time, and they are one of the slowest drive-throughs in the central IN region. On my most recent visit (Th), I ordered a plain hamburger and one signature sauce (among other items for my family). They put ketchup on the burger, which was dry and crispy all the way through, and charged me for 3 signature sauces (according to the receipt) ... and only put one in my bag.
No matter how often I've ordered a plain hamburger there, I have never been served a plain hamburger -- with cheese, with mustard, with ketchup -- they can't get it right. I've been upcharged without consent multiple times and couldn't interject when ordering because the order and pricing often doesn't come up on the screen (broken?). Order has often been wrong. Once, I had to wait for a half hour while all the cars in front of and behind me were served. Why? They couldn't find my order ticket number, so when I did get my food, it was cold because it had been prepared 25 minutes prior.
I've written to management 2-3 times and, while apologetic, they haven't made changes nor amends.
So, go to this location only if you're not picky about what you get (best bet is to order fried food, I guess), if you don't mind being charged a bit extra, or you're desperate for a Culver's fix and you'll take what you can get. Otherwise, AVOID at all costs. It's my fault for going there (it's my closest location) ... and I think I finally have to take responsibility and boycott because they can never deliver even the most basic of service.
2025 update: I drove by the other day and stopped because they had my favorite FoD, which doesn't come up a lot. Unfortunately, a disappointment. The custard was grainy (a special flavor) and the mix-ins were sort of put on the top of the custard (a few lines of each) instead of mixed into. Another disappointment and the absolute last visit to...
Read moreI have frequented this place for years and I have NEVER had such bad experience, as this. Ordering was a challenge, the young man barely spoke up so that his manager could help him. Finally, I spoke up and half way through my sentence another associate who had heard this whole exchange, came over, punched in a code and walked off.
We get our food and immediately, notice my cheese wasn't melted even a little so I pick up my sandwich and notice its cold. I tell the girl "Dexi" and she takes it away to then bring back another- it was cold but I had eaten my fries and just wanted to finish and leave. Dexi, she was the sweetest young lady, she wasn't going to have us walk away less than satisfied so she gave us each a meal ticket and ice cream. She never lost composure, she was nothing but kind and sweet and should be awarded for her customer service!!
Lastly, I had to tell the counter help that the ice machine needed ice. How they could stand around, acting like they didn't know, when they clearly see people one by one try to get ice and walk away. I spoke up and the kid looks at someone else to say they were out of ice. They tell him to go fill it. That ice bucket being carried up the ladder by a kid who is smaller than the bucket (jk) was actually scary. He was struggling so bad he shouldn't be filling it! The entire restaurant was dirty. Dirty tables, floor, the counter to get condiments - I cleaned off for then because it was that bad. Meanwhile, people were standing around talking behind the counter, even the manager. I'm not sure we want to eat in again any time soon. The cleanliness has been going downhill over the last few months. The staff usually, are all attentive just not that time. They had been busy, but once it died down, someone should have gone around cleaning. We tend to be more understanding, because nowadays, no one wants to work, businesses are short help because of this and young high schoolers lacking social skills are working long hours. Customer service of Dexi was a 10, other customer service a 1....
