I have made a point in my life to visit as many sushi restaurants as possible when traveling & after thinking about it just now it’s definitely more than 50 and less than 100, probably about 70. This is my favorite sushi restaurant. It’s the best one I’ve ever been to, not just my favorite sushi restaurant around here but by far the absolute best one I’ve been to objectively. The fish is as fresh as it gets that’s the most important thing with sushi. The service is incredible every time. I’ve been eating here over a decade and every time the staff are so friendly, quick and professional, and I haven’t even started talking about the sushi yet!! The rolls themselves are creative and the menu is fun! Large menus are looked down on by some snobby restaurant critic types, but this is a great example of a huge menu that works great! My absolute favorite roll is the Seattle! I get it every time I visit but the Heart Attack is very good too and I’d recommend you go there immediately try both and if you’re not completely blown away you should probably get checked to make sure you’re not sick because something is wrong with your sense of taste. Oh my goodness the Udon too!!! I can’t name another place I can count on to get good Udon around here let alone the delicious Udon I get here. I still find it amazing, I’ve visited Sushi restaurants in LA, Seattle, San Francisco, etc yet my absolute favorite is right here in Gresham. I would put this sushi up against any on the west coast in a blind taste test and bet heavily on Bento Plus. I have been charged much more for inferior Sushi, and happily paid it. As such I always tip very well when I visit, except for possibly once or twice when I was short on cash and probably shouldn’t have been ordering Sushi in the...
Read moreWe have been going to this place for a long time and they just changed owners....If you have not been to this place before, then hopefully this review will help you. These people are EXCELLENT at making incredible food but they ARE NOT good at understanding how a business is to run. Let me explain so that you do not get confused...We have been here so many times that we now "Get it". When you first walk in you have absolutely no clue what is going on...You don't know if you are to seat yourself, or if you are to wait. They have nobody to greet you so it can be confusing...You are to wait by the door and then somebody will come from around the corner and seat you. These people do not speak English very well so at first it will seem like they are "Mean". They are not...this is just their culture (I think)...not many words, just down to serving great food. Also...at this place if you call in an order to go, there is no place to wait, and no place to pay. It is very weird...You are just to stand at the door and tell them you have an order to go. Also, when it is time for the check...they seem to never bring it as you are finishing up...I would highly recommend asking for the check when you are done ordering. Again...do not get me wrong...these little oddities are what make this place unique, and the food is truly astounding in regards to freshness and taste. I can not dock them a star for doing it "Their Way". Another thing is that you need to request all of their amazing sauces...ask for spicy mayo on the side (Incredible), ask for the teriyaki bottle that they have hidden behind the counter along with other sauces that they will not put on your table unless you request. Final word....I sure wish this place was...
Read moreHorrible service. The food was decent. My husband and I with our toddler came to eat. We were the first table there. No one said hello. Two other tables came after us. The two waitresses helped them first. We had to get our own menu. After over 10 minutes the waitress comes and we order water and a few items. She brought my miso soup that I wanted with dinner first.... before the water. I let the soup sit there waiting for water because I was so thirsty. It was starting to get cold so I had to eat it. By time I was done the soup she brought water. The food came, she made a mistake with my roll and I had to wait for it to be fixed which is fine. No big deal. But my water was empty and I asked her to refill out, she did but never took my husband's glass.Nor did she ask him if He wanted more. He asked for his to be filled and she gave him attitude. The bill came and seemed expensive. He ordered any 8.95 dish, I ordered a bowl of rice for 1.50, the soup for 1.50, an egg roll for 3.50 and 11.00 for my sushi rolls. The Bill was 30.20. When we left we calculated it and it came to 26.45. So either tip is included and the waitress never said anything, or they overcharged us. Never again will...
