Anyone who is as familiar with Mexican food as much as I am will understand that there are typically two types of red salsa. There’s one for tacos and one for tortilla chips. The one for tortilla chips is more of a garlicy, red tomato base and not as intense with spice. The one for tacos is mostly pepper based and is much spicier. I ordered a taco plate, which came with rice, beans and chips on the side. I asked these people three times for the red salsa for my tacos and they gave me green salsa instead (green tomato based). When I asked a fourth time, they gave me a mix of the red tortilla salsa and the green salsa, which provided a much different flavor that my taste buds were so anxious for. It pisses me off because I’m very picky about my food experience. I’m not a picky eater, but I’m picky about my experiences. If I have a taste for something specific, there’s a particular experience I’m looking forward too while eating my food. There was absolutely no spice with my tacos at all, which was an automatic turn off! But what really made me upset is the fact that these people mixed the two salsas together and served it to me! Ugh!!! Just imagine a salsa mixed with red tortilla salsa and green tomato-based salsa on your tacos. Not good!... especially when you are a red salsa type of person! They were obviously out of the red taco salsa but the thing I can’t understand is why they couldn’t just tell me that? Why try to trick me into thinking that I got what I asked for when you know you ran out of it for the day? I wonder if I were Latino, giving the impression that I obviously know better, if my experience would have been the same (Even though Latinos come is all colors, but you get the point.). Could it be possible that they rigged up something and gave it to me, expecting me not to know any better because I’m not Latino? I’ve been to this restaurant several times before and it’s always been on point. However, this time was an epic failure. I was so disappointed in my experience today and I have no plans on going back.
And, since I care about local businesses, I won't mention how long it took to...
Read moreWent out to eat dinner tonight 10/19/2022 at Amigos...I asked for a frozen 12 ounce Texas margarita with salt on the rim...we also ordered chorizo dip with shrimp added for an appetizer and my husband had a 12 ounce Texas margarita on the rocks...my frozen Texas margarita was good...just as I was about to lick the salt off the glass, my eyes captured a glimpse of something black...and dark in the salt!!! LORD beholds it was a ROACH!!!! I was so upset because I would have had it in my mouth if I didn't pay attention to it...we brought it to our server's attention and of course he apologized and said he would remove it off our ticket...my response to him was you know we should be comped for the dip and my husband's margarita...of course he said he couldn't do that .. I asked for the manager or supervisor...his response was they are not in and it is just the employees that are there...I said can you please call the manager...and he again said he couldn't.. I told him I will post Google reviews, post on Facebook groups and notify the health dept.. and I will bring it to the attention of the other 3 tables that came in after us...he still wouldn't do it...I called 2 other employees over and they were kind and sympathetic and also apologized and told us not to worry about paying for the dip and my husband's margarita...We thanked them both and went on our way....with all of this being said...I know some restaurants aren't pest free...but when I see it...it can not...
Read moreFirst time going to los amigos, went there yesterday for dinner, food and margarita where good. But the waitress took a minute to get to us, my daughter who’s 3 started to get fuzzy because she was hungry. Plus the restaurant wasn’t full at all. Waitress finally comes takes our drink orders I asked for a small margarita yumi by the way, and a sprite for my daughter well she bring out this huge cup! For a 3 year old! When I mean huge it’s huge even for an adult! I asked if they had kids cup and she said “yeah, but come in a smaller white cup with a lid ”. I think to my self ugh yeah that exactly what I need for a 3 year old.. 🙄 asked for one because I knew she would spill that thing everywhere! Say no less my she spills the thing thankfully we had the kids cup. I feel that the food took a bit to long for a place that wasn’t busy. She forgot our cheese dip which I asked for it first to keep my child busy. It wasn’t brought out. Not even when our food was brought out I had to tell her. I asked for corn tortillas she brought me flour... idk if she was new and nervous, or she was on something because she come to our table and stand there for a min with a blank stare and then she come out of it and say everything ok. I thought that was odd. Any how, cute little restaurant, very clean, everyone who worked there...
