My daughter and I had the pleasure of dining at Gritz, and I can confidently say it was one of the best breakfast experiences we’ve ever had! From the moment we walked in, the warm and inviting atmosphere made us feel right at home. Our waitress, Ashley, was absolutely wonderful—friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. She made sure everything was perfect from start to finish. We ordered pancakes, biscuits, grits, eggs, sausage, and of course, some classic southern sweet tea—and every single bite was amazing. The pancakes were fluffy and flavorful, the biscuits were perfectly soft, the grits were creamy and seasoned just right, and the eggs and sausage were cooked to perfection. The sweet tea was pure southern comfort in a glass—sweet, refreshing, and absolutely delicious. Gritz truly captures the heart of Southern cooking, and with service as excellent as Ashley’s, it’s a place we’ll be coming back to again and again. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a warm, flavorful, and unforgettable meal!

We stopped by Gritz while on a search for filming locations used in The Walking Dead. The woman at the Welcome Center recommended Gritz to us as a great place to grab lunch. It wasn't too busy even though it was peak lunch hour and the servers were quick to tend to us when we sat down. They offer breakfast all day, including harder to find biscuit fillers such as Red hot links and Streak-o-lean. The prices were very good and the food was excellent. We had the BLT with onion rings and the Turkey Club with french fries. The sweet tea was just right, the fries and onion rings were crispy, and everything was wonderful! We would definitely stop in again for fried chicken or pot roast next time!

We went around 1pm, tables were full except one and we got it. You seat yourself which is good. My Baby got; Turkey and dressing with Mashed potatoes and gravy and fried okra. And I had chicken and dumplings, with fried okra and green beans. She said, The dressing was very hard also there wasn't much Turkey. Fried Okra was decent. The Chicken & dumplings didn't have that many Dumplings. The Green beans didn't have a taste to them no seasonings. The fried okra was mushy wasn't crispy. I will have to try again at another time to see if they fix their food. Everyone should have the same experience.

This is a small town family owned business and I just can not believe the made up story I was just told regarding overcharge. They have great food but be careful they like to add extra charges to your bill. I ordered lunch special which comes with a drink. I also ordered a side of large chicken and dumping not the meal just the chicken and dumping. Order came to a little over $18.00 I asked how much was the chicken and dumping she said I only charged you 5.95 for the chicken and dumping the meal Is 7.95. I did not get the meal I only got the side of chicken and dumping. When I got to car i added it up which with taxes did not come to over $18.00. I called the resturant spoke with the girl who took my order. Explained to her I think she charged me wrong she informed me that she didn’t. I explained to her that I looked online before I ordered. Gritz post daily pic of their specials and what I ordered with drink was $8.50 and $5.95 for side of chicken and dumplings she said well the cost of food has went up and the prices has went up. I told her well the post that I based my lunch off of on fb today was just uploaded to Facebook this morning so prices has went up since the picture was posted this morning. She then told me that the extra charge was for the drink. I said the meal comes with a drink then she told me it was because I ordered sweet tea instead of a soft drink. I said so it is not posted that a tea is extra $2.00 she said well it is. I just let her go because I could not hear this made up nonsense anymore. I called back spoke with someone else told her what happened and she said that was not true they don’t charge extra for tea. Said that she would credit me the extra money I was charged. I’m still floored by this. It’s really not about the money it’s about she just made up something and rolled with it. There is no telling how many people she has screwed...

I’ve been here several times since opening but this place has really went downhill. Our server was I think Nicki, the thick long blonde girl is the only way I could describe her, but was not impressed with the lackluster service she gave us. She came to our table got our drink and food order but after our drinks that was the last time she came until we had already eaten. Someone else brought our food which I know that happens but the problem was she didn’t come and check on us. I had to ask another server a question because she didn’t come back. I was going to get more coffee and also I didn’t get my toast that was supposed to come with my breakfast. We sat there waiting until I was just aggravated at that point and she decided to come back after we had already eaten. I felt some type of way that she gave another table and the people at the bar more of her service than we were given. Also the food definitely lacked this time. I got a spinach tomato and mushroom omelette that lacked some seasoning but also it seemed like it was canned spinach which I have never seen anyone do, I was expecting fresh...

My girlfriend and I had breakfast for the first time today. I ordered country ham and had a very hard time cutting it and it was VERY SALTY. Needless to say I couldn't eat it and didn't tell the server because she came to the table when I had run to the restroom and I didn't see her no more after that. I saw her once when she checked out food but I had not got into it yet. My girlfriend told the cashier and she basically said they had new cooks, not that it makes it right she said. My girlfriend has served and understood but didn't understand why she didn't take it off the ticket. Hard to pay $25 for two dishes and one didn't have their full meal. It was busy and my girlfriend, being considerate of the rush, didn't want to fuss. Country ham should be rinsed before frying. Less salty that way. Doesn't need to be over fried, makes it tough. Other than that it was a great place to eat and great service. From the front door we were second row of tables, next to last by the window. Came in around 10:45 am. Just in case y'all check for a ticket. Was exactly $25! Anyway, decided to let you...
