At this DQ, if you ordered grill menu items and there were cars behind you in line, you would be asked to move forward and your order would be brought out to you. That's a thing of the past. You wait in line for up to 30 minutes just to get a drink or cone. The last time I went through the drive thru, I was in line for over 20 minutes because they wouldn't ask the driver ahead of the 3 cars in line to move up. When they finally were served, they left and it happened again. Finally I got to the window. There were 5 FIVE teenaged girls standing in a circle gossiping behind the counter. I waited the 3 minutes till they got done jacking their jaws and they finally started making my ice cream order and I paid and left. This has happened the last several times I've gone to DQ. One of those times I ordered a Blizzard and it was ALL messed up with odd flavors and the gal at the window smirked and said, "Enjoy your Blizzard." After I got home, I realized it was bad. It's getting much worse as far as service, and I wish it would change. I used to like DQ. Now,...
Read moreIt's a hectic, messy place, with overworked staff, and regular technical issues. A hold over from the fast food experience of my youth back when fast food places where like the fire swamp.
If you see a lot of flies the ice-cream is no good. A few flies whatever but more then few and be warned.
Smell the air. How does the fryer smell? This can inform you on the quality of the fries/onion rings.
If the staff are spinning out your order is going to be wrong. No amount of checking it is going to help. Mistakes will be made during assembly.
Look at the machines to see if any look broken or in disrepair and avoid those items that use that machine.
If everything looks good get extra napkins because the tables had to be neglected so they could get caught up.
I'm sure there's more tips for survival but you'll notice I marked food quality 5 because when it's not botched it's excellent. Just being considerate of the factors that cause food to be botched is a small...
Read moreIn the past the food has been good here but I haven't been in a while. I don't know if the place is going downhill or if it was just an off day but my burger was kind of lacking. The burger patty was a little overcooked, not terribly dry, but a little hard on the edges. My bun, however, was really rather dry and even cracking on top. And just to add to it the four pickles they put on my burger were literally just stacked on top of each other; they couldn't even be bothered to spread them out. The fries were fine and cooked well so no complaints there and my blizzard, although a little skimpy on the cookie dough tonight, was the perfect consistently so a thumbs up there too. Their drink machine appeared to be leaking water across the floor, which is a bit off-putting, and the seat of the booth I was in was worn and torn. So in general kind of a bit of a let down but...
