Tony's Barbecue & Steakhouse — Restaurant in Groves

Very disappointing to say the least... but I will keep it short & sweet... I work in Texas only but reside in another state, had a taste for bbq a local recommended tonys bbq... Man, How I wish I would have just settled for a salad in my hotel room. First of all i got the food to go, they just threw the food into the to go trays soooo sloppy, the food was all over the place by the time I got back to the room, which was only right down the street. To me the price was very expensive for the food and like another review stated, they ARE VERY STINGY with portions that they serve. Also, I ordered peach cobbler, they served it to me FROZEN. So I called to let them know and to ask if they served it frozen and the customer is to heat it up??? she said no and to come back to get another one (VERY RUDE). I drive back to get another one, open it up and guess what??? It is FROZEN as well!!! I am like you have got to be kidding me.... I just drove off! I will NEVER patronize this business again at any of their locations, I would not eat here again for FREE. I had a chopped brisket, fully loaded baked potato. The sauce, Corn and rice on the side. The brisket was juicy, and flavorful. The bbq sauce was tangy and slight sweet. The corn was different… I’m not sure what kind of gravy it was in but it also had some ham bits? The corn had a small spice to it…. Maybe like a 2 out of 10 (in spice). The rice had like a Cajun flavor, the spice of the rice was like a 4 out of 10 ( in spice) . But everything I tasted was a 10/10 in flavor. The place was clean and all the employees were so friendly. On the down side, I thought it was a tad pricey for a mom and pop type restaurant. I spent a little over $21 on just these three items+drink.

Great Tasting Texas Bar-B-Que If you are looking for a restraunt where you can sit and admire the beautiful architecture and surroundings, then keep looking. If, however, you are wanting to enjoy some truly great tasting Texas bar-b-que served by a great staff this is your place.
