Incident Report: Suspicious Device in Restroom at Tijuana’s Bar & Grill
Tonight, while out with my husband, I went to the restroom at Tijuana’s Bar & Grill located at Viejo San Juan Avenue, San Juan, PR 00901, to relieve myself. To my surprise, after using the restroom, I noticed what appeared to be a camera-like device attached directly to the mirror, with a cord hanging from it.
I immediately felt extremely uncomfortable and concerned that the restaurant might be secretly recording individuals while using the restroom, violating their privacy.
I approached the manager, who identified herself as Maria, to report the situation. Maria explained that the cord I saw was from a broken light and that it was not plugged into the socket. However, after reviewing a video recording we took of the restroom, it is clear that the cord was indeed attached to the wall.
I continued to ask Maria for clarification, specifically questioning: • Why was the cord attached directly to the mirror? • Why did the device resemble a small camera? • Why had it not been removed, considering it could easily be mistaken for surveillance equipment?
Despite my repeated concerns, Maria dismissed my observations and stated, “No one has ever complained about it before, and it is just a mirror with a broken light.” Her response made me feel that she was not taking the matter seriously and had no intention of investigating or addressing the situation appropriately.
Feeling that my concerns regarding a potential invasion of privacy were being ignored, my husband and I immediately decided to leave the restaurant and go directly to the police station to formally report the incident.
We are prepared to provide the video evidence showing the device and cord, and we respectfully request that authorities conduct a full investigation into this matter to ensure that the rights and privacy of patrons are...
Read moreI have mixed feelings with this review. Everything started as planned. Our table was reserved and when we arrived we didn’t need to wait. The waiter started very nice with a good pace. We were a party of 8, not all of us arrived at the same time but pretty close from one to another. We told the waiter that it was going to be on separate accounts, everything was good. Each and everyone of us ordered and that when everything started. Let me start by saying that the place was EMPTY. The waiter got our order but we had to wait for over 45 minutes for our food to come out. We asked if we could get more chips and salsa since the kids were hungry ( it was charged) our burrito was cold, fajitas were supposed to be mixed and they were only with chicken, they forgot the refried beans as well. The coconut margarita was bad. I wouldn’t recommend this place at all. When we got the check the tip was already included and after we paid we were kicked out of the restaurant by one of the waiters because we stayed at the front of the restaurant talking. She specifically said “ is there anything else that you need because this is our area?” We found that extremely rude plus she had the worst attitude. Bottom line I’m not coming back at all and they need...
Read moreExcellent service and the food was AMAZING! The Pelancocha is my favorite of all time. Have been my go to option for more that 10 years and it’s always so tasty 😋 The carnitas are super delicious too. I ordered to go, Ana (the manager) was the one who took my order, took care of everything and it was perfect. Her service was superb and unfortunately that quality of service is very rare to find on the restaurant industry lately. I was not aware that she was the manager, she was acting like a normal employee that was just taking care of clients, the best way possible, she was very down to earth. Usually managers ask there employees to do the job, but not her, she was an example of real teamwork by just being part of the team, like every manager should do. BRAVO! We even had a very nice conversation that took me back to the great memories I have from when I used to work on that industry. Definitely, employees like her are the type of people that companies need to create clientele for life. Go to this place peeps, you...
