Hooters — Restaurant in Gulf Shores

LENGTHY REVIEW: The hostess was somewhat ok. We had a party of 4 included 1 handicap adult in wheelchair. We were told 15-20min wait (maybe not that long) by 2 different waitresses at the door. LETS talk about the MANAGER : Her name is TANYA. We got seated in front entrance by ourselves & she approached table & said " Just so you know we aren't taking orders for 30 mins. I ask for Waters & menus while we waited & she flat out refused said she wasn't assigning us a waitress nor could we have any menus until them. We counted a total of 5 standing around. Tanya states the kitchen is backed up with Door Dash orders & outside orders (3 tables occupied outside & 4 inside including ours) & she wasn't going to bombard them anymore. Tanya said we can just sit & wait. Mind you we had been on a charter boat for 8 hrs & were starving & knew "Hey cant go wrong with Hooters" We live 3 hrs away we dont have one. BACK TO TANYA: She refused a 3rd time to bring us H20/menus said she was the manager & could do what she wanted & walked off. Meanwhile we ask one of the waitresses & she immediately got us Waters & menus. TANYA told her we could not order until 9pm ( It was 8:15pm) we waited irate but patient & observed her behavior w/her staff & other patrons as we witnessed her kitchen employees literally bickering & cussing each other while filling orders while TANYA propped up at the drink station with her arms folded watching them. The entire atmosphere was A DISASTER! INTENSITYwas present, RUDE all but 1 waitress was the same. BACK TO TANYA: Her Management Skills, Demeanor, Attitude, Appearance, Body Language, Professionalism, Character, THE LIST GOES ON is PURE PATHETIC & she clearly has issues with herself & by far should NOT be working with the public & definitely not restaurant! This issue is also going to corporate. I just feel its terrible also bc HER WAITRESSES are clearly under stress, threatened, & intimidated by her & TANYA is the reason them girls wont make a dime @ no fault of their own !! So after being here for over an hour with only 6 customers in the entire establishment I could easily count because the deck is still closed as usual. Actually when I got in here there were 5 and a Caucasian guy came and sat at the bar across from me about 8 minutes after I came. He got served right away and I'm still at the bar waiting to be served it's a hot day and all I want was a virgin daiquiri. I'd never eat food here from the last time I came and saw the chef came out the toilet section thank god he flushed cause it was stink, while I was in the urinal and didn't wash his hands. But I'm ok with the bar. Guess they decided I wasn't gonna get served today cause I was black.i guess if you're white this might be the best place for you. Then again the last time I was here my Lyft driver told me the same thing happened to him but he wasn't black. The only thing I noticed it's the same bartender who he said was his server that got him banned that was running the bar. Guy that used to work at the Liqor store next door got banned as a result of her as well. Only thing I can say if you come here and Celeste is here you make sure you tip her 100$, if you don't you're getting banned. Last time she served me the argument was why I be tipping her staff members big bucks and I not gave her 6$. I explained I only ordered one specific drink and she spoiled it 3 times out of the four times I ordered. So I'm like confused in my mind I guess the bartender owns this restaurant or she's in a relationship with the owner and only serves who she feels like. Note I didn't say that's the case but that's the behavior I'm getting. It's August 2, 2025 I got here at 2:50 and it's now 3:52. Still haven't gotten served. I’m a boy mom of 4 from Louisiana and Hooters is our our go-to place to eat on a weekly basis, so when we came to GS for vacation, our dinner decision was a no brainer. The service was ok. But the food was Horrible! We ordered our usual order of fries with a side of queso along with buffalo chicken dip as our appetizer. when we got it, the fries were old/stale and cold. So we sent them back and the cook took the same old-stale fries and put them back in the grease, heated, and reserved them to us (as if we didn’t just watch him do it!) the Buffalo chicken dip came out pasty and dry. Even parts of it were discolored and hard indicating that it wasn’t fresh and had sat out for a while. The chips to go along with it were greasy and mushy and some still dropping with oil and bent when trying to scoop the dip. My son ordered traditional, bone-in, breaded wings(no sauce) and they came out looking like my toddler try to bread and cook them. They had no salt or seasoning in the flower and the crust was still gummy. I took a bite to make sure my son wasn’t trying to be picky and sure enough it tasted like raw flower, and twice fried old chicken wings. And if that wasn’t bad enough, when I got my chicken strips, 2 of the 4 were fresh made and the other two were obviously old because they were hard as a brick and cold. I showed all this to the waitress and thanked her for her her service but asked if she could talk to the manager about the food because never in my life had I been to a restaurant this bad! They discounted our meal (not by much) and we left. Needless to say this is probably the worst food I’ve ever had in my life and worst restaurant in...
