My husband and I were looking for a late night dinner spot while in GS for vacation and stumbled upon Papa Rocco's. The fact they were open at 10pm, was already a plus for us.

All of our food was absolutely delicious. For dinner, I ordered the spaghetti with meat sauce which came with a generous piece of garlic bread and my husband got a medium pepperoni and sausage pizza. We loved every bite of our meals and didn't leave with leftovers. The sauce had a nice flavor and good size pieces of meat. My husband said the pizza was very good and cooked perfectly.

Our server, Jessica, was great! There were about 10 tables with people and she was the only server; and one of the best server's we've ever had. She was friendly, handle all of the tables amazingly, and didn't miss a beat on refills or anything we asked for. I could hear other tables complimenting her on her skills as well.

It's not your fancy Italian restaurant, more of a cozy make you feel at home style place and we loved that too. They offer live music every night of the week while really adds to the ambiance. They're been around for quite a while and the walls are covered with pictures and articles to prove a testimony to how good they are.

We enjoyed our meal so much this first night, we ended up going back two days later for lunch. I got the same spaghetti but added meatballs this time. The meatballs were good, just as expected. They were soft, flavorful, and had a nice sear to them. My husband switched up his order and got the Italian Combo Dinner. Oh my goodness! I wish I had a picture. It was 5 different items, in a small casserole dish, topped with melted/toasted cheese. He said it was phenomenal. We also ordered the cheesy garlic bread after seeing another table order it on our last visit. Another menu item that didn't disappoint.

All of our food was so good both visits and we'll definitely be going again whenever...

New owner, it's terrible now.

A week ago I went there and ordered the fettuccine Alfredo. It was made with spinach in it, which I did not order, but overall not a huge deal EXCEPT the first bite had a long blonde hair in it. EW. They remade it, no harm no foul.

The time I was there before that, the band was so incredibly loud the woman next to me left without ordering because it was painfully loud. I asked the band to turn the volume down a little, and they told me to go somewhere else. A random man at the bar yelled at me, "WE LIKE IT LOUD! WE VOTED FOR TRUMP!" Okay buddy. I checked the ambient noise level on my phone. It was over 100 decibels. Permanent hearing damage starts at 85 decibels.

Most recently as I arrived, a woman I know in town was being cut off and kicked out. The owner was yelling at her and told her he didn't give a damn how she got home, she could walk. The reason she was getting kicked out? Her husband had left (no drama) and apparently the new owner has a problem with women being out after dark without a male owner. I offered to call an Uber for her, she couldn't believe she was being kicked out. I had no idea what was going on at the time, I had just arrived. But then the new owner turned his rage on me and I was also kicked out for no reason. The new owner yelled that I'm "always complaining". Then he CALLED THE POLICE ON ME AS I WAS PAYING FOR MY ONE DRINK. This entire scene took all of about 90 seconds and was just shocking. Other people in the bar were questioning why I was getting kicked out. Apparently the new owner has decided to turn this once legendary local landmark into his private angry little boys club.

All of this happened with Papa, the original owner, sitting at the bar watching it go down.

Truly sad to see this place go down the...

By far the worst experience at a restaurant I have ever had! Our grandparents took us here as they have been coming for years. We ordered appetizers, Salads, oysters and spaghetti. When our salads came out first the order was completely wrong we were missing a salad and they all had the wrong dressings. The waitress brought us the right salad dressing but never brought the extra salad we ordered. 1 out of the 3 orders of oysters came first without and sauces. The second order of oysters came out 15 minutes later! The third order never showed up after 45 minutes and after everything was done eating my grandpa was left without his meal! Needless to say we all watched each other eat! When we asked the waitress after 50 minutes of no oysters she snapped at us saying and I quote “your really testing my patience!” And to top everything off our drinks we empty the whole meal and our appetizer was delivered last and of course short a cheese bread! This waitress was so rude and non existent. She obviously needs to find a different line of work, or try listening and writing a order down correctly but most importantly not be so rude. We were being very patient due to the fact we saw how busy and understaffed they were that night. Needless to say we left without eating much because our appetite was ruined. Never in my life have I seen such bad service! I hope they find better help because the food here is pretty good and the atmosphere is fun. We also asked to speak to a manager and was told there was no...

There are simply no words to accurately describe by hyperfixation on this place and their lasagna…

I had a really bad experience with Papa Rocco's, could've been worse. I found what looks to be a spring or some type of foreign object in my food that I bit into(it had my tooth hurting a bit) you can see in one of the photos it looks like it was baked into the crust. I tried to contact the restaurant but got no answer, I left a voice mail but haven't received a call back. I am relieved that it was me that bit into that slice and not my 4 or 6 year old Update: I went in today and talked to a manager, he refunded me for the one pizza with the spring and gave me a apology. I feel I should've been refunded for the entire order because half of my food wasn't eaten because we didn't feel comfortable eating anymore afterwards. As of now I'm just going to continue to enjoy my vacation and don't let this experience ruin it. But I will not be going back, I can't take a risk like that when it comes to my family. 2nd update: another manager contacted me today. I told her the story and how I felt, she was very nice and apologized for what happened to us. She wanted to replace my order(but I'm no longer in the area) and I think she could tell i was a little hesitant. She said let us make this right, give us another shot, let me mail you a gift card. Just for their customer service I'm going to move them from 1* to 3* This could've just been one of those rare occasions BTW, before the spring incident the pizza and wings was pretty good... I was mad as hell I couldn't finish it because of the issue.
