Well… who goes into a doughnut shop looking for something healthy? LOL.. It was raining so we stepped inside this new place (used to be a pizza place). I was with a friend that reminded me we were going to walk 10k steps to shed some pounds so .. I was NOT ALLOWED to have a doughnut even though they looked SO TEMPTING!!! It was obvious from the massive line that I was going to be missing out on something huge!!
I decided to be good 🤨and ordered the avocado toast and a large regular coffee (because they did not have kombucha.. which was my first choice). My friend ordered an egg/bacon/ cheese on a croissant (she’s French). I received my box of food in a reasonable amount of time, however, after 20 mins my friend was still waiting on hers. She asked one of the counter staff where was her Croissant? They said someone must have taken it and they had to go into the back to make another one … after about 10 more mins, I decided not to wait for her food to come out and I was ready to dig into my box..
I had to laugh when I opened my box and saw ONE piece of toast neatly placed on aluminum foil. I paid $16.37 for a 16oz regular coffee and one piece of white toast with avocado spread (tasted like guacamole), sliced hard boiled egg sprinkled with sesame seeds and lemon?
It was one of those moments when you look up and feel jealous of all the happy people in the parlor doughnut shop .. I’m mean seriously WHO GOES INTO A DOUGHNUT SHOP and orders health food???? LOL.. the avo toast 🥑 got me INSPIRED though. So after my friend got her bagged croissant we left the doughnut shop 40 mins later and walked our nearly 10k steps on the beach. After which, I went to Rouse’s and bought Ezekiel sprouted grain bread, an avocado, gourmet cherry tomatoes, a lemon and some roasted sunflower seeds and made my own avocado toast x 2 at home.
I will say I walked out of the Parlor Doughnut shop thinking I should have had a doughnut and...
Read moreBeing quite honest, my wife was so excited to try this place (I’ve never heard of it before) we’re from DFW, and apparently only have one in Ft Worth but we’ve never tried it again, heard of.
I come here looking briefly at the menu super skeptical that it’s going to be any good (I’m super boring meat and potatoes kind of guy) and BOY WAS I HUMBLY SURPRISED!! These were hands down the very best donuts I’ve ever had!
They told me they’re called “layered donuts”. My new friend Jylinn here was so friendly as was the rest of the staff, and she made me laugh when I shared my experience with her too but she also made me aware that these folks here (but sure if all the stores nationally, but here in Gulf Shores helped her and so many others during COVID move here and help with their lodging expenses when her and others were furloughed! When everyone else was scared and unsure, these guys doubled down on their commitment to the customer but also the team.
THAT is THE AMERICAN WAY! 🇺🇸 This made my heart swell with pride as a disabled combat veteran, and I wil forever go out of my way to try to get these addictively and positively delicious donuts wherever I am in the country.
God bless yall and thank yall for running such a fine establishment!
Also the coffee was delicious and the breakfast sandwiches “slapped” as the Gen Z &A say haha , the sausage biscuit with fig jam on it is ABSOLUTELY DIVINE too geeeeeeze luweeze.
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE come to Dallas (specifically Rockwall, Texas along I-30!) you will be busy as...
Read moreThe facility is nice and Clean and the staff is very welcome. They do have a great assortment of donuts you can choose from. I had the coconut cream, filled doughnut, and the strawberry shortcake Doughnut. My experience with the donuts is that you get more of a cronut vibe and my coconut doughnut was OK however the whipped cream on top overpowers the crow nut, and the cream in the middle gives the essence of a Barbarian cream versus a coconut cream, which I was kind of disappointed in because I love coconut, the strawberry Shortcake grown-up was very disappointing because it tasted like a regular strawberry iced doughnut. Had there been more of a cake vanilla taste and more whipped cream similar to a strawberry shortcake. This one would have been great so overall the grownups are great. Would I go back again no but by all means if you’re in Gulf Shores, give them a try because every taste bud...
