Wife and I went in for a few drinks and some food on a Sat, early afternoon. We sat on the deck and I went to the bar to order drinks and get menus. I ordered a Guinness and Moscow Mule. Bartender took my order, then moved on and took some other people's orders and served them their drinks. No problem, figured they were probably locals and you should keep the locals happy. Then she went and got orders from people who just came in, serving them their drinks, and rang up bills for three other customers. All the while I am standing at the bar near the register waiting. I waited patiently for another several minutes, in all my wait time was approaching ten minutes. She saw me waiting, then continued waiting on others. Not sure what transpired that she chose not to get me drinks, as I am always polite and courteous. Especially since I tended bar myself, for over twelve years. It wasn't all that busy at the moment, and I really didn't feel like asking what her issue was. I am happy to go spend money somewhere else. So that's exactly what we did. To management, you really need to check on your employees and make sure they are up to the job they are tasked with. If not, properly train them, or move them into a lessor position until they are ready. Hopefully others have a better experience...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOh boy, let me tell you about my experience at this bar ā it was like being in the Bermuda Triangle of bartenders! I went there twice, thinking maybe the first time was just a cosmic hiccup, but nope, I was wrong!
The bartender seemed to have a superpower of ignoring me even when it was slower than a snail's pace inside. I swear I could have worn a neon sign that said, "Thirsty and waiting," and she'd still be like, "Who? What?"
I felt like I was auditioning for the role of an invisible patron in a bar-themed superhero movie. I tried everything to grab her attention ā waving, dancing, and even breakdancing, but she remained in her own parallel universe of oblivion.
Honestly, I'm half convinced she's a secret agent for a covert bartender society, and the first rule is to act like customers are figments of imagination. But hey, maybe she was just practicing her telepathy skills, and I was the unwitting test subject!
In conclusion, if you're looking for a bar with a mind-boggling bartender experience, this place is for you. Just remember to bring your invisibility cloak and be prepared to laugh at the absurdity of it all. Cheers, or rather,...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe spent the entire weekend in Gulf Shores for the āSand In My Bootsā festival. We ended all four nights at the IceHouse. They are the perfect mix of locals and tourists. The owner was on site mixing with everyone and truly made us feel like he had known us forever. The bartenders were slammed with the festival crowd and were still able to serve everyone in a timely manner. I have a new found respect for their profession after seeing that team throw it down!!!!! They kept great attitudes the entire time and the food was AMAZING!!! This isnāt just bar food. The steak tacos and those chicken nachos could compete with any restaurant out there! AND the kitchen is open til midnight sometimes later depending on the crowd which we were VERY thankful for on those late nights. They had live music downstairs and a DJ upstairs. We closed it down there pretty much every night and definitely have plans of going back!...
