Palisades Restaurant — Restaurant in Gunnison

Went as a family, my brother ordered a medium prime rib, I have not seen such a small cut before... thought it was a top round steak! Overcooked, small portion, baked potato looked nice, side of veggies over cooked. Now to the other part, 3 people in our party were vegan. 2 ordered the house dinner salad no cheese, no garlic bread, no egg....raspberry balsamic . Received what was more of a side salad portion for the 10$ price, and house balsamic. Iceberg lettuce, 8 cherry tomatoes, 4 cucumber slices , 2 slices green pepper....10$. Then ordered 2 veggie burgers, both with onion rings on side, nice thick onion rings with good batter to onion ratio and hot! Worst veggie burger ever with stale red onion that makes your breath stink for 3 days... limp lettuce, waitress never brought ketchup or mustard, stole that from a vacant table and there must be a napkin shortage?? Had vegan kiddo.. no menu options there except for French fries, onion rings or steamed veggies... Prime rib plate came with beautiful steamed veg, side of steamed veg for kiddo looked mushy, discolored and scraped from bottom of pan... kiddo wouldn't try and rightly so!!!

We tried but we're really disappointed, not with what we paid, and no alternative...

We recommend you go else where for a meal.

The restaurant appears clean but when you look at the details it is not. The pictures are very dusty, the back of the booth was stained and had dirt on top of it, the bathroom sink was dirty and the floor had a layer of dirt on it. The entire place needs a good detailed cleaning.

The food was ok.

But the service was the worst we have had in years. We travel 8 months a year and eat out a few times a week. The initial contact with the server was good. But then it went down hill fast. The appetizer arrived within a reasonable amount of time but the entrée didn't come for almost an hour! After I realized it was 45 minutes since we ordered them, I yelled at the server across the restaurant because she had not returned to our table. She said made an error and didn't input it. She did comp our sodas. But the worst came when we were done and needed our check. She was no where around...because SHE LEFT!

That's right she just left, we were the only ones on that side dining room and had to go find someone to pay.

Again--- GO ELSEWHERE...

Nice place to sit down and have a meal, pretty atmosphere they have a dining section or you can sit by the bar. The waitress was friendly but didn't know to much about happy hour...she said it's beer and wine....so we ordered a draft beer and then another and it was still 11 dollars....that's not much of a happy hour. The food was good, didn't have to wait too long til the appetizer or food was served. The straws for the drinks were awful...like drinking from a toilet paper roll...didn't like that part lol The taco salad was good but the whole bottom was practically a whole head of lettuce...I was ok with it but if you don't want a whole head don't order the taco salad. The price was 55 bucks for 2 people thats including an appetizer 2 entrees and drinks. Other then that it was a nice, cozy place to eat. We would eat here...
