Our 2nd time getting food from there. We took a drive from Grand Junction to Gunnison for New Years Eve day. A gorgeous balmy winter day. It was also our 12th wedding anniversary. Their food is worth the 2.25 hour drive. Texted my order in the morning, and we picked it up at 1pm. It was 42 degrees and sunny. Grabbed a picnic table at the local Jorgensen park in town. It was an exceptionally mild day for Gunnison in the winter.
The first time we ate their food was in November 2023, while we were working the Sugar Plum Christmas festival. A local couple shopping at our booth told us about Patcharees when we mentioned we love Thai food.
Ordering is easy. The menu is fantastic. We had the dish with pork and collard greens on both visits. It was a popular pick with the most flavorful red sauce I've ever had. And I make sauces...Pad Thai, Panang curry are full of flavors we thoroughly enjoyed.
For those of you leaving reviews. Keep in mind it's meant to be to go, really. Don't leave them a 2 star for ambiance. Monks fruit instead of sugar I read someone complain about. Seriously? We try to follow a keto style diet the majority of the time. However, we understand this food is a huge treat for us and we don't eat it often. Sugar is necessary in its authenticity and flavors. Also, getting supplies in Denver is somehow bad. Hmmm..who in Gunnison is growing bok choy, carrots, green beans, lemongrass, chilis, and all the other ingredients in the middle of winter in a greenhouse? If you are, I bet you could call them and let them know.
The owners do a great job. Running a business is hard. Even more so, as husband and wife. Like them we source our products where and when we can to keep our products and their quality...
Read moreMy wife and I travel quite often and try Thai Food all over the place. I try the "(American Spicy) Pad Thai" at every place we go to and my wife tries different dishes. I usually don't get my hopes up when we try new places, but for some reason I had high hopes for this place. Let me tell you, this is the BEST THAI FOOD in the state of Colorado. I was EXTREMELY impressed and super happy. The texture, consistency, taste, spice level, and portion size of both dishes were incredible. The man that took our order was very friendly and helpful. We live about an hour outside of Gunnison and come in for groceries, once every week or two, and we will now be calling in orders for Thai food on our trips into town!!! I highly recommend this place for Thai food, just make sure to call in your order, so you don't have to wait. Once again, I highly...
Read moreI used to say this was the best place to eat in town. I sadly am not sure anymore. They have good food but the service isn't the same. I placed an order and thought I was going to have dinner ready but sadly it wasn't. Lack of communication and they use too much refined sugar in their food. Also, it says they use local and organic food in this deli and I don't think they even try. They go to the front range to pick up their resources and I don't believe any of it is organic or healthy. If they tried using monk fruit instead of refined sugar and products from the health food store they are in or deal with local suppliers for their dishes that would make such a difference but they don't. I wish we would get a healthy , good restaurant in...
