Pie-Zan's — Restaurant in Gunnison

This used to be one of our favorite places to go, but on this day after getting out of a serious medical procedure, before being picked up from the hospital, I asked for a quick meal from the grocery store so I could join my family at Piezans for our daughters birthday party meal. As I entered into Piezans, I had a meal NOT from Piezans, just to get something in my stomach, and the owner quickly tells me in a non tactfu and rude manner that no outside food allowed. Now, I don't know the reasoning behind this, if it was a personal decision or something that is forced by the county, but there definitely was a far better way to approach and address the situation, especially with us being locals or Gunnison and a local supporter of this restaurant, and that of which she knows. So I quickly grabbed my small dish of sushi to eat outside, and my family now turned off by the interaction, boxed up their food and left the restaurant behind me. That will be my last time to this restaurant, and will no longer support this establishment going forward. Having a respectful demeanor, tact, and consistent positive customer service from the owner seems to be slipping through the cracks. The entire interaction was a true disappointment, and left a permanent mark on me. Previously I had many meals from here and liked the atmosphere and service, and even though I didn't have a meal, I was going to order something to eat, but didn't get the chance due to the disrespectful treatment from the owner. a review for current and potential customers and manager, employees, owners, etc. from someone who believes in treating others the way one (we) should want to be treated (?) : my second day of work within the first half hour i was approached by the supposed owner ( dark hair and loud, bossy demeanor) with a attitude and words of "im here to be your boss" after i addressed the uncleanness on the inside of the kitchen/dish pit area at my first shift while trying to learn and multi-task, encourage and implement glove use, efficiency etc., and i was basically told to leave after being disrespected and my previous work ethic insulted (likely for personal motives/ guilty consciences) from both the supposed manager ('sage') who almost immediately contradicted the instructions of the owner and told me to "listen" while he was being seemingly very hypocritical. i observed/experienced wrong intentions and what looked like black mold in the corners of the dough pans and a 'speedy carelessness' that involved cook/prep. ware and possibly customers. i was excited for the food quality, oppurtunity, environment and team/family effort. may be...

We have given this place so many chances, but tonight is officially our last time ordering from this restaurant. After calling and being hung up on, calling back and being placed on hold, without a word, then hung up on again, we finally got through. They picked up the receiver, placed it in the counter, and then finally picked it up and said “Piezans”. That’s it. We placed our order and thirty minutes later they call to tell us they are out of two of our three entrees. We change or order and 45 minutes later it arrives, missing an entree. We tried to call back to only repeatedly get a busy signal. We had to contact an employee via cell phone to reach the restaurant to say we’re missing food. The waitress informed us she was off but they wouldn’t be answering any more calls tonight. It’s an hour before they close.
