Blackstock Bistro — Restaurant in Gunnison

My boyfriend and I are locals and we were in Blackstock a month ago and were disappointed by the service we received. As we got our food, the ketchup container slipped off the plate as the waitress was holding it and spilled all over the floor and my boyfriends Air Force Nike All-White Shoes. Instead of helping clean it up the waitress handed my boyfriend a little towel to clean it up himself and never returned to clean the floor. There was no assistance for cleaning the floor or even making the dinner free. The waitress then brought our check after we sat there with ketchup on the floor. We asked to have his meal free because of what happened. She didn’t hesitate, but the whole meal should’ve been covered. The lack of help in this situation is the reason we haven’t returned. This was our favorite restaurant to eat at and recommend.

Update: 10/16/2020 Hi Luke it is nice to hear from you so quickly. I appreciate your initiative in trying to solve this problem. Unfortunately, parts of your story aren't factual. There was no assistance from the staff on helping clean up the shoes. My boyfriend had to go to the bathroom and do it himself. I was sitting at the table by myself while he was cleaning his shoes and I strictly recall no one coming over to clean the floor or help us. The check was handed to us with no clear written or verbal indication that the meal had been discounted. The waitress complied when we asked for a discount, but if there was already a discount in place we should've been told. I would not take the time to write a bad review about our favorite restaurant for no reason. The response we got from this experience was very unfortunate and it would've been nice to speak with you the night of and hear from you that our meal was discounted. I hope this helps clear up the discrepancies from that...

I don't get why anyone said the food was delicious. I ordered the salmon, son ordered the filet, and husband and daughter ordered the sliders. Beautiful plating. Excellent ambience. Decent service. Saw the prices and thought, I bet this will be so delicious! Saw the reviews and all that. Wow. I have no idea how, but this food was utterly terrible. The old fashioned I had to start was also the very worst old fashioned I've ever had. It tasted basically like a shot of bitters. The food on my plate had a strange flavor as everything tasted the same. I suppose the sliders were enjoyed by my daughter but my husband said his were terrible as well. Cost of a dish is between 25 and 35 for most entrees. I would not eat this food again if it were free. Please cook better. I can't imagine serving guests this food. However, I guess some people do like it. This is just my honest opinion, I hated every bite of food I had. Chili's is about ten times better that's how bad the food was. I really get nauseous even thinking about it. I know it all looks pretty, but it all tastes bland and fairly flavorless. If you're from the North, it might be right up your alley as the closest thing I've had to this terrible was when I lived in Washington state....

Went here for dinner recently while I was in town for work. It was medium busy when we got there and asked to be sat on the patio. The patio was very nice, they did a good job with it. When we first got there the music was very loud, but it did get turned down after a little. Overall the place has kind of an upscale/classy vibe compared to other places in town.

The food was all very good! They have a decent selection of both appetizer/small plates and some larger entrees. I got the seared scallop small plate and the salmon entree, my friends got the salmon as well and the fish tacos. It was all very good! The scallops were of decent size and great taste, especially being served on the beet chips! The grilled salmon was also very good and the couscous and veggie side it is served with. Would recommend both dishes. My friend who got the fish taco also said that was good.

The service was friendly and decently timed, did not have us waiting all that long.

Price was also pretty good, especially when considering the portion size. While not cheap, it was not terrible, especially given the area.

I would for sure consider coming back here next time...
