Super cool bar/restaurant. I visited several times While in Gunnison. First visit... Went in with a group of 8 or 9 other softball parents around 845pm while they were busy and was seated quickly on the outside patio as a group. Music was bumping. 2Pac. Nas. Dre. It was sweet. Drink order and food order were taken promptly. I ordered the Even Flow cocktail. Tincup whiskey. Citrus. Cucmber. Jalapeneo. It was delicious. One big ice cube too! I was a little disappointed in the buttermilk chicken sandwich. It was kind of dry but everyone seemed to enjoy their food. Our service was great. Two big TVs behind bar. I could see NBA playoffs from outside. It appeared they were hosting the local college basketball staff for pizza and beer. There was a big basketball camp at the campus. Second visit... I stopped in for a Bloody Mary the next morning while on a bike ride. I believe they do brunch on weekends. Plenty of bike racks outside and visible from the bar. Very bike friendly place. The same friendly face from the night before was there working. I believe some of the food items are named after local trails. Some of the cocktails are named after Pearl Jam songs. The bloody mary was great. I ordered it with Titos. It came with a lil smoked bacon, pickled green beans, a lime, olive, and two caper berrys. I had never eaten a caper before this! Salty but good. I also ordered a half pint of Irvin Mexican Lager. Service was outstanding. The drink order was around $15. The bartender told me about the owner who was really into Pearl Jam and cycling. He was working the night before and was there at this time. Looked like he was running the smoker. I chatted with a few locals who were watching euro league soccer and enjoyed some good laughs. 90s rock was playing on stereo. Third visit... I came back for lunch! I brought my Mom who is not easy to please in a restaurant. They were not as busy as I expected them to be. It is a seat yourself place so we found a table quickly. After a few minutes or waitress greeted us and acknowledged my third visit. She was awesome. I ordered the Poutine Fries which was on weekend happy hour special 2 to 4pm. Best Poutine fries of my life and the price was a steal. So good. I am not kidding. I will be ordering these again next visit. I also ordered the other Pearl Jam themed cocktail or beer-tail. The Yellow Ledbetter. My mom ordered a Mule. For lunch she got the fish and chios which the waitress said they were known for. A great recommendation! Crisp, hot, and tasty! Served with fries and homemade ketchup! My Mom loved it. I ordered the half cobb salad and the waitress suggested the parmesan and peppercorn dressing. It was a perfect choice. Salad was tasty and filling. The bleu cheese may be a little much for others but i enjoyed it. I met the owner this day while he was gearing up in a food truck for a catering gig. I told him how cool the place was and couldn't wait to return. He was a super nice dude. Three visits in two days and i wanted to go back on Sunday but didn't have time. You must stop in for a visit. Original menu. Food with recipes. Outstanding cocktails. Killer music. Great vibe. I give it a TEN (Pearl Jam reference)

Went here twice over 5 day stay in Gunnison. Wonderful food & specialty drinks! We both had happy hour sliders 1st time - $6 for two huge so-called 'sliders' with blend of local pork/beef, tomato marmalade, gouda, arugula (fantastic and huge bargain). Next time husband had Cubano sandwich (delicious, huge) and I had the dinner size Cobb salad which was an out of-this-world work of art with chicken salad, avocado, bacon, pecans, sliced mini-tomatoes (from farmer's market maybe?), tons of blue cheese and pecans -enough to feed 3 people! I had a Foxhound mixed drink both times, my new favorite drink, served in a copper mule cup and so lemony good, while husband had a Modela. Room is on the small side, but when weather is nice they open the garage doors and have lots more room on the deck. We sat at the bar and had good, friendly service despite it being quite popular and busy. Highly recommend!

The Dive is a fantastic restaurant. Great enough that we came back twice. This is not standard pub food. From their pountine, to their "burger" which is a delicious scanga pork/beef blend, gouda cheese, bacon marmalade and arugula. Their fish and chips are lightly fried, not greasy, served with a homemade tartar sauce and ketchup. Their cocktails are fantastic from the Covid Killer to the Mules, to the rotation of craft brews. Be careful, because the 7,100foot elevation is the great alcohol equalizer. So the RN in me encourages you to drink plenty of water with this fantastic meal. The pics are the gravy fries, fish and chips and a parmesan chicken nugget with fries app. If none of this tantalizes your taste buds, Mario's pizza is right next door and their pies are also fantastic.

Recently visited the Dive while in Gunnison. Due to the combination of decent reviews, reasonable prices, and close proximity to our hotel, it won out over the rest of what this town had to offer.

We were sat at a table in the corner, near the pass-through counter to the kitchen. The counter protruded about eight inches past the back of my chair and into the space where my neck should have been. Now, this was a fixable issue and I normally wouldn't mention it except for the fact that it is a perfect allegory for everything else about this place: a lack of attention to basics and negligence being passed off as "quirky charm".

The charcuterie board was kinda gross. Not worth getting into. My buttermilk chicken sandwich, though... that's worth discussing.

Chicken, fried into large, round lumps that could barely stay on the bun under the force of their own weight, let alone with the mashing necessary to shape the sandwich into something you can actually fit in a human mouth. It was tender. But the flavor was not great. Then they topped it with some kind of spicy, sweet, tangy sauce that really didn't improve things before then heaping it with shaved carrots.

The sandwich was a solid 3/10. The fries were actually decent. But they gave me some kind of marinara instead of ketchup, which was not at all appetizing. Overall, this was a massive disappointment.

My date had chicken and gnocchi. I tasted it. It was no better.

On our walk back to our hotel, the conversation focused on how everything - EVERYTHING - tasted off, and how our main concern was actually whether or not we might get food poisoning.

Service was solid. The wait staff was genuinely pleasant and helpful. Easily the best thing going at this place.

The Dive in...

I don't even know where to begin. I stopped on a long road trip to break up the time a bit. Google had awesome photos and decent reviews so I decided to give this place a shot. We ordered the poutine and the catfish po-boy. The catfish was so over seasoned, it was inedible (and it was a featured special). The poutine was edible but barley (we ordered ours with green chili), the green chili seemed to have potato chunks in it and a horrible cinnamon flavor to it (being from Colorado I've tried hundreds of green chilis, and I look forward to different ones). This one was awful in our opinion. The service was just as bad. When I ordered the poutine, the waitress asked what kind. I said I don't know what kinds there are (the menu isn't very clear on which parts are automatic and which are to choose from) and she gave me a blank stare. We had to ask several questions to get her to clarify what we could choose from. As we were leaving, my girlfriend got up first and made it past an incoming waiter before I did, so respectfully I waited because he has a job to do. He stood in the way blocking it for several minutes serving their food, which is totally fine. But then he squeezed right past me without acknowledging me or apologizing for the wait. It was like my time and experience was beneath and insignificant to him. After we left, my girlfriend said the one positive about the place was that it made her look forward to getting back into the vehicle and back on the road just to get away from the place.

On a positive note the home made ketchup and plain fries...
