Dairy Queen (Treat) — Restaurant in Gurnee

I had an awful experience at this particular location in Gurnee on Old Grand Ave. After going there for years never having any problems what so ever with my orders until a week ago. I ordered my blizzard with 3 different toppings to find out once home that one of the toppings were missing, so I did call the facility the very same night to inform them of this error which the manager said he would remake the item on a different day but I needed to bring in the blizzard that wasn’t to specification. I brought the item back to the store and I reminded him of what he told me he said that after getting off the phone with me he asked the owner the next day about my situation and was told to tell me I could write down what I wanted on paper to ensure the order was correct or go elsewhere but they would not be able to remake the item now keep in mind this was my only and first time having any issue so you would think there wouldn’t have been an issue. Just horrible customer service. I say if you’re spending your hard earned money you could at least get what you asked for hassle free. SO FOR THOSE LOOKING FOR A DIFFERENT PLACE WITH GREAT TASTING ICE CREAM I SUGGEST GOING TO CULVERS, TWISTED COW, or OBERWEIS WHICH IS WHERE I ELECTED TO GO!!! Ice cream cone for my daughter was fine. My wife’s ordered Reeces cups in ice cream in a bowl and received very little Reece’s cups. Chili dogs were so so from the microwave. My big disappointment was they apparently don’t make banana split blizzards here at this location. They do have all the ingredients and you can order a banana split. I asked if she could just make it a blizzard since they have everything needed but she would not. Also the only food they serve is chili dogs. Probably the worst Dairy Queen I’ve been to and I’ll choose somewhere else next time. One more point is there was no one in the restaurant when we came in so it’s not like time was an issue. With 4+ people working and only 2 customers you would think there would be nothing wrong. I ordered a large blizzard with Oreo and cheesecake. Simple I would assume for 4 people. They gave me a blizzard with a tiny scoop of cookies and handed it to me and went back to their conversation. When I got home and after eating it I realized they basically put nothing into it and I paid 7$ for a cup of ice vanilla ice cream with a few Oreo pieces.
