I will tell you this: 19 years living in Gurnee, I came to know and appreciate the previous owner who was a REAL INDIAN!

The difference with new owner (Hindu vs Moslem aside) is the surly, penny pinching trend toward downbranding, dishonest practice of shelf pricing not honored at register, and unapologetic substitution of subpar products.

I regularly used to buy Deep brand jar pastes and curry powders. Today, I purchased a couple bags of some off brand garbage - owner claimed he didn't know Deep until I showed him their garam masala on HIS OWN SHELF! Stuff I bought smelled & tasted like DIRT - it's going back,...

I used to visit this store because of its proximity to my home. Few years back their samosas made my husband throw up. Once my daughter threw up as well. So I would buy mostly spices and not samosas. Lately. twice within the last two weeks I had to throw stuff because the items from the frozen food section as well as the non perishables snacks shelf exceeded the expiry date and I forgot to closely look when buying. Very worst customer service and had worst experience as I had to leave the place because he won't accept a card payment below $10 not even debit card . He don't appreciate a customer at all.
