I went to Jersey Java for the first time on 5/29 around 11:30-12pm. Iāve driven by this place many times and was looking for a spot to spend some time on a much needed day off with a coffee and a book. Unfortunately, that was not what happened. When I arrived, there were two people behind the counter helping guests and one of them came to the register and asked for my order. I ordered an iced caramel macchiato, and before I could finish the order the other person, a young woman with long dark hair pulled back in a ponytail and a bad attitude, came to the counter to inform me that they make a ātraditionalā macchiato which apparently is two shots of espresso and a dash of foamed milk. Honestly, I was grateful that I was explained this before I received my drink because I wouldāve expected something different, but it was the tone she used to tell me this that was the issue. I decided to still go ahead and try it how it was traditonally going to be made and said that I was ok with it. She reiterated it a couple more times the way it was going to be made with ājust a drop of foamā and I explained that I understood and that I still wanted the drink. She then turned her back to me without saying anything, making me feel like I gave her the wrong answer. The person at the register rang up my order and I paid and tipped. She then asked the person at the register if I wanted it hot or iced, and since I was still standing right there I said āIced, pleaseā. She didnāt acknowledge her coworker, who answered her as well, or myself, turning away again. Assuming something was wrong from her demeanor, I stated that if it couldnāt be made iced I would be fine with it being hot. Again, no acknowledgement, didnāt even turn around. Once she was done she put the half filled plastic cup down in front of me and walked away. I thanked her and again was met with silence and her back turned to me. There was no lid on top, nothing. Just an open cup. I saw other patrons with lids on their drinks so Iām assuming I should have received one, obviously it being the easier way to drink the macchiato without it spilling. I didnāt see a self serve station where maybe lids, straws, etc were located and I certainly wasnāt directed to one. Needless to say, I didnāt feel welcome enough to stay and enjoy my book with the coffee, so I had to drive, with a lidless cup of liquid, home. And for all the attitude and condescension, it wasnāt even a good drink. There wasnāt any syrup in it that I requested, which maybe it wasnāt allowed in a ātraditionalā macchiato that she repeatedly called it, but the espresso itself was not good even by itself. Iāve worked in the service industry, so Iām not usually one to complain, but Iām just deeply disappointed by how I was treated and was made to feel like I was stupid. Itās a drink, itās literally not that serious, but how you treat people is. Myself and my family will certainly not be returning, there are other small business coffee places in the area that are more deserving of my business and money, and I hope that person does a better job in the future. The picture is how I received the drink, without having taken a...

Came here for a change of scenery from the every day work from home dullness.
Found parking on one of the side streets and were able to walk on site without issue. Inside, masks are enforced and when we went, indoor dining was not an option.
Overall, it's a nice little shop aesthetically, lots of windows and charm creating that cozy corner coffee shop vibe. The workers were very polite and allowed us to take our time going through the menu and making our choices. We got a latte and a cold brew and a muffin to share. Nothing too spectacular from the drinks or bakery item. I also noticed that they have other local areas' items for sale - like quiches and bagels. We had arrived here late afternoon, so all the bagels were all sold out, so coming here in the morning may be a better idea.
We sat outside while dining, and I found it surprisingly chill. The outdoor space is a pretty spacious and even though the street is pretty busy with foot and car traffic, we didn't feel too confined.
COVID review: masks required while inside but can take off when seated at their outdoor seating. There are many areas where you can use sanitizer and they have a station with paper towels and cleaner to use to wipe your area down when you leave.
Might give this place one more whirl and aim for a morning time visit but not itching to go back for...
