If you want great food and great service don’t go here. The music was so loud our server messed up our order. We were brought a vegan burger instead of a cheeseburger and my table had to wait another 10 minutes at least for me to get an extremely greasy over cooked burger and burned fries. This is after we waited for our drinks (3 glasses of water) for nearly 15 minutes our appitizer was gone by this point. Our server told us they wouldn’t charge us for the vegan burger, that we never ordered. When the manger came over he apologized for not being able to hear us over the band and moved around our table. When we told him about the order never being repeated back and us never receiving more water despite us trying to get anyone’s attention he said he’d be right back and he was so sorry our table had been so neglected. At this point the owner comes out, this is the part that still has me dumbfounded. She goes “ok I want to hear your side of the story” and while I’m trying to say that I never ordered a vegan burger I ordered a cheeseburger while even pointing to it on the menu she stated “well your server says he repeated it” in such a snarky tone that all I could say was well you know in “service the customer is usually right” to which she stated “not in my restaurant”. She went on to keep stating that my party shouldn’t have waited for me to get my food and then they wouldn’t have had cold food. She kept saying there was nothing she could do as the server repeated the order back so she asked if we wanted to talk to the server. I said yes, he came out and my boyfriend asked if they were making him pay for the burger we never ordered when the owner kept talking over him saying they were but she ate it for dinner instead. Three people were at my table stated the order was never repeated to which she replied “well I believe my server so it was repeated.” To which I asked if she was calling me a liar, mind you I used to be a server so all I want was an apology and “hey let us knock off the appetizer” or something but instead I’m told I can’t do anything, from the owner! The owner was berating us making it seem as if we were lowlife. The party I was with was all military and the restaurant wasn’t that busy leaving no excuse for the mix up or the way we were treated. I will never go back after the treatment we received. You can go anywhere on island and getting better treatment of not...
Read moreThis place is outstanding. They have served me the best food I e had on the island. Always have intriguing specials, (dont miss the board at the door, or far wall chalkboard).
I ordered the fiesta platter the first time I went, and it was outstanding. The platter isn't a normal menu item, it was a special for the day. The dish was massive, and everything was cooked perfectly. The dish had boneless kalbi short ribs cooked island style, spicy seasoned perfectly crispy pork belly, beef kelaguen, fried white fish of some kind, red island rice, a small salad, and of course, an island favorite, finidine sauce.
The second time I went, I ordered the porterhouse steak from the specials. It was cooked to perfection, smothered in truffle butter sauce, served with potatoes, asparagus, and a massive portobello mushroom. The total was $39 including my beer, which I thought was an outstanding deal. For the appetizer we ordered the hot wings which were a bit different than I'm used to, but also excellent.
I returned again and the platter was back but just a little different. When I ordered it the waiter (bartender) forgot to tell me that they had switched a couple of the items because they ran out of 2 of the items. I was disappointed, and I did not like 2 of the items (not bad quality, I just didnt like those foods). They were very quick to bag the order up for my company to eat, and served me another item on the menu in expedited manner. It was a burgur, which was delicious. The original item was free of charge.
This combination of outstanding service, and w Quality is what led me to the 5 rating. You cannot go wrong with...
Read moreIf you think you need white linens and 3 forks to get good food let me break some barriers for you. So this place is a flippen gem!!! Forget the farm to table nonsense, this is straight ocean to fork type place... It was recommended to me by some locals and basically the owners, Moe and her Sara are some old-school free-divers that grew up spearfishing and they went to culinary school. They started with I think was a food truck and then moved up little by little to this "Jount". So I'ma go na make a short story long for you. They know thier fish and make at a point to serve only local catch. I had the seabass with white rice and it was very well made, with a slight sear on the outside giving it a mild crust but moist and flaky to the presure of my fork. It was topped with a white creamy sauce that did not drownout the fish at all. Sorry but this is a thing with me, If you need to drown your plate in sauce then it makes me question what it might be hiding, spices and sauces should be used to compliment or augment flavors not mask them. Anyhow this plate was very well thought out. They served it to me with sauted veggies and asparagus and it was better than any steak you could have, so yes my friend, I had it with a dry red wine and if your crawling in your skin because you might think fish goes only with white wine then guess what. I also wear white shoes after labor day so how you like dem apples? The dry red helps pop out the mild flavor of the seabass and goes quit nice with it. I highly recommend this place. I apologize I was so involved I forgot to...
