Hub Pub — Restaurant in Hagerstown

I was waiting for an appointment; so decided to grab a quick bite to eat. I saw a new restaurant at the end of the strip. I went it; was acknowledged and I asked if I could get a milkshake to go. The waitress replied they only had 2 waitresses and it would be awhile. As I sat waiting; the same waitress Sar 2 other groups of customers. Got their drinks and still did not return to me. I was seated in front of the door as she passed me constantly. I sat for 10 minutes without any more acknowledgement; so I left. I knew Benny's was open but not sure if they were serving food yet as it was around 1:20pm on a Tuesday afternoon. I decided to ho in and get a drink if nothing else. The bartender was there with one other customer & she took my drink order and I decided to get coconut shrimp as I only had 30 minutes left to eat. My food came out immediately and was hot & delicious. I met several other patrons as the afternoon regulars were coming in. It was a very friendly group and I had a quick but delightful 25 minutes. I have been here in the evenings upon occasion but never earlier in the day. I felt safe and around a friendly group. Rudest dark long haired bar tender in the back bar. I'm a local and come often for wing night and happy hour. Never had a problem before. She greeted me and my friend (who is black and was the only black person in the entire restaurant) with "hey you don't want wings do you because u always want to take them home" ( referring to my friend) how rude! I asked the lady 3 times for a coke waited a total of 30 mins till I walked to the front bar where I was greeted by a very nice sweet short blonde haired girl who helped us out all night by refilling our water and soda since the nasty bartender in the back would not. Even though she kept on serving new people and checking in on other tables but not once was ours checked on. Ill never be back. Thanks for hiring such racist skum. But thank you to the blonde haired girl! You are amazing and sweet and I hope more people like u get hired there then ill return! In response to the negative review just left: “Waited over 15 minutes at our table for them to come and take our drink order. Waited another 15 for them to arrive. We left. I understand everyone is short staffed but you still need to deliver better than that. Maybe adjust the number of tables to the amount of staff. Won't be back.”

If you aren’t willing to wait longer than 15 min at ANY successful local business in America right now, I suggest you start asking for job applications and working in these industries. Then come cry to Google.

Benny’s has done nothing but provide phenomenal service, delicious food, and a great spot to meet with loved ones for years. They’re also a keystone in this community.
