Today I telephoned Ovation Bistro and Bar with a simple question which turned into a nightmare. At 2:53 P.M. today Wednesday 10th, of September 2025 I called the restaurant and "Suzie" answered in what seemed to me like a annoyed voice and I asked "can you tell me what type of fish is in the "Posideon's Grace" dish? She replied "I've never heard of that before are you sure you're looking at the right place?", I replied "yes! I'm looking at Ovation's Menu, as I order and have become a regular now". She, Suzie then said "I'll put you on hold and go ask the kitchen". So Suzie returned and said "we don't have that any more". I then requested a manager and Suzie rudely placed me on hold for 4:56(four minutes and fifty six seconds as our phones do let us know these things now a days)she then returned and said "the manager is about to go into a meeting so he won't be able to talk to you". Suzie then said few seconds after "the manager is in a manager". I then asked her, so is a manager in a meeting or is about to go into a meeting?. Suzie then Repeatedly asked me over and over four times "if I was sure I was looking at the correct restaurant's menu, and do I mean the Imperial Talapia"? As if I'm dumb, stupid and not knowledgeable enough to know where or what I was looking or ordering from. Then as she tried making me look like an idiot, a manager finally took the call. The manager was Josh Federrington who said he is the General Manager, so what's going on he asked? , I said to him I called asking what is the Posideon's Grace before I made a Doordash Order and that Suzie did not know and she was Rude and condescending in trying to run me off the phone. He too then said "that's is not something we sell, I think you're meaning the Imperial Talapia" and I replied "NO!, Posideon's Grace is a different dish from the Imperial Talapia" and on the Doordash Menu it's there and you can order and pay for it. I also said would Joel or Fernando Rodriguez the Owners would like to know how a regular customer is being handled today just for Inquiring about a dish that you have on your menu and Josh the General Manager said well "I'm about to go into a meeting with Joel and I'm late, I will ask him about it" and ended the call. So picture attached is of the current Doordash Menu as of today Wednesday 10th, of September 2025 and as you can clearly see Posideon's Grace and Imperial Talapia are Two different things and at two different prices. I like the food here, I been getting food no less than two times weekly and was shocked to see that neither Suzie or the General Manager Josh did Not know their menu to answer such a simple question regarding a menu item. I think park of working in a restaurant is knowing the menu, they should have everyone tested on the menu. So for food 5 Stars, For...

Read moreWent to Ovation twice for the week of our family reunion and absolutely loved it (equally) both times!! A favorite spot for locals and also tourists. Medium-sized space so it doesn't lose its locally-owned feel, while still being able to accommodate groups. Our first trip had 5 guests and our second had 10. Reservations are HIGHLY recommended, especially for larger groups.
This place specializes in smoked meat and meat in general. BUT -- being in FL, they know their way around some seafood too! I ordered the "Diablo Del Mar" with shrimp both times....creature of habit who appreciates finding something truly special. This pasta is spicy. If your on the fence about your spice tolerance, this dish isn't for you. But the creaminess of the pasta makes it tolerable and truly a standout!! We had kettle chips (house made) with brisket -- very nice. I'm not a kettle chip guy but even these were nice and had a different look and feel from store bought stuff. We were offered a sample of fried Mac n' Cheese triangles while waiting for our table and those were surprisingly nice; a big hit with the kids. All of the salads are cute, if not somewhat artistic but useless. They present side Caesars as a half of a Romaine heart, still with leaves nested, and then dressed and topped with croutons. The dressing is clearly homemade though and pleasant. I was able to sample steaks and salmon.....there are no bad choices on the menu!!
The cocktails are really quite nice (especially the White Sangria....if that's your thing). Be sure to ask about drafts too. My brother and I both had a tart but slightly sweet key lime cider. The description might put one off but we both really enjoyed it. The larger glass option was nice too!
Would I go again? ABSOLUTELY. Would I send family and friends? ABSOLUTELY. Stop in at Ovation -- you won't regret it! The staff is really very, very friendly, outgoing and knowledgeable too making for a great...
