I stopped in on a whim after driving by and being intrigued by their cake display (there aren't many bakeries left in the area). First off...they were open on a Sunday afternoon AND it had just snowed (kudos there because that's difficult to find).
I decided to order dinner for my husband and I, we got onion Naan, vegetable puffs, cake, baigan bharta, and chicken korma. I even tried their masala chai to go. Every item was absolutely delicious. Puffs were excellent, the curries had EXCELLENT flavor and portions were more than appropriate. The cake was delicious, light and not overly sweet like a lot of American bakeries. The cake was moist, not soggy and the size of the peice was perfect. They told me everything is baked on premise and the naan was some of the best naan I've ever had.
I am not indian, but indian food is our favorite cuisine and we frequent all the restaurants in the area. I'm so grateful for a top quality dinner, lunch and dessert spot in the area. Now I don't have to waste $25 ordering from downtown on door dash. I'd rather support my local businesses and good people trying to be successful in the restaurant game. I hope this place succeeds. I know i will be back and am excited to try to the lunch options on my busy days. The lunch options looked delicious and don't break the bank. We need places like this, good friendly people with good food! Don't hesitate, go for it! Their food and baked goods were delicious!!! I look forward to ordering a cake for my next birthday or event!
Note: My husband likes things spicy and I cannot handle any spice(these days lol), they asked and accommodated me perfectly. Each of our dishes were completely matched our requests. Also, this is more of a to-go spot than a sit down restaurant which is fine, Just know that if you plan on eating in. It was VERY clean with good lighting. Staff was SO nice and happy to chat with me and give me menu...
Read moreI’ve eaten from here multiple times now and it totally exceeded my expectations every time. I’m sorry I have no pictures. I keep gobbling down the deliciousness before thinking about photos. Next time I’ll do better.
The puffs are delicious. I got one kind and my husband got another. They each were fabulous. We also tried dosas. As it was our first dosa experience, I have nothing to compare it to, but it was very tasty. The one I got was mostly potatoes in the filling which I didn’t realize when I ordered it. The flavor was great. I’m just personally not a fan of double carbs in my meals so I’d try a different kind next time (if they make other kinds - I’ll have to ask better questions next time).
I’ve also eaten the chicken masala, palak paneer, and naans here - all foods I’ve eaten plenty of times and know what to expect. The entrees had a better flavor - more layers of spices, it’s hard to explain - than other restaurants in the area. It was divine.
We have also tried a couple kinds of cakes and they did not disappoint either. Light and airy and delicious.
The restaurant doesn’t have many seats for diners. It’s small and cozy and unassuming. But don’t let that confuse you. This place makes amazing food. Oh, and the service was great too. She was very friendly and helpful. I’m so glad we gave it a shot. It really doesn’t look like much from the outside, but this is now going to be on very regular rotation for when we do takeout. Reasonable prices too.
Edited to add: my husband got my birthday cake from here and I have to say…this may be the best birthday cake I’ve ever had in my entire life. It’s that good! So I had to...
