Sorrento's has lousy pizza! The meatballs on the pizza were dried out and overcooked.I also called this place on several occasions for take-out orders. Their policy is to deliver to Hamden. They are somewhat centrally located in this town while I live in the northwest area of town called West Woods. The last time I called I waited over an hour for the order supposedly because as the delivery boy stated," they got backed up in the kitchen after I called." When I called to see what the problem was someone with a rotten atitude and a sharp Italian accent who sounded like he had just gotten off the boat said I'm far away(10 miles) and I have to wait for the food. I'm not ten miles away. I may be six or seven miles away and this is still Hamden. They say they deliver to Hamden. Needless to say this place isn't worth the hassle! Don't waste your time or money on this place. There are other places to get food and I'll go elsewhere next time.If this is an example of their attitudes it's amazing that they're still in business. Don't put up with it! Go somewhere else to eat! Sorrento's gives the Italian...
Read moreI moved to the area for work early last year and since then have ordered from Sorrento's probably 15-20 times, each time giving it another chance with the hope that my experiences with this place would improve. Unfortunately, they never did and I am now done giving this place chances. Every time I ordered from here something went wrong; extremely long delivery time (one time it took 90ish minutes), cold food, rude delivery driver, bad tasting food, etc. I only live 5-10 minutes away and delivery always takes upwards of an hour. My biggest complaint is the pizza; it isn't very good. It is usually lukewarm when I get it and I usually get fries with it and they always have been soggy and almost inedible. Another big factor for me when I rate pizza places is the quality of the pizza when you reheat it the next day. The pizza doesn't do well in this category either. Overall, I am extremely disappointed with the food and service here and will no longer be ordering from here. There are too many pizza places in the area to make these kind...
Read moreThe original.owners are long gone. I went to try out early slice of pizza and it was about as good as the pizza I had in the elementary school cafeteria. When I walked in I could smell hot not so fresh grease from deep frying fast food. It took a few minutes for someone to greet me and then another 10 minutes to get out early slice.of pizza. The staff was friendly when they were around but disappeared no where to be found. Wait wait wait. They were nice and did not charge me and asked me why I didn't like it. Well, the crust was thick and.mushy in the middle. The sauce was lousy. And the fast food residual smell was a turn off and appetite diminisher. It's a far cry from the original owners probably directly from Sorrento Italy. There is nothing authentic about this place except the plaques on the walls from the original owners.i won't be back. As nice as these people are I was looking for some Italian Pizza. Not worthy of the...
