Dairy Queen Grill & Chill — Restaurant in Hamilton Township

I honestly rarely do this, especially for a fast food restaurant. I feel like it's hard to even get a smile from strangers these days. I get it, we have bills to pay, we are all extremely stressed, but I have to take the time out of my day to write this, since the worker I came across at this location was so exceptional. My parents & I stopped at this dairy queen yesterday around lunch time with my daughter. We have eaten at this location numerous times before, always very clean & the food is really good. Our experience yesterday was just lovely, I have to give Bob a shout out and the sole reason for this review, I don't know if he is a manger or just hourly employee, and frankly it doesn't matter, because I never met someone who genuinely enjoyed his job as much as Bob and genuinely cared about the guests. He was on the food line/expo line when the line to order got long, so he jumped off the food/expo to open another register to take orders (very rare do I see this). Not only did he do that, when I ordered our food and forgot to use my app to earn rewards for the visit, he said "oh no problem, I can pull up your order again and add them manually." Called about getting a blizzard cake for a dual birthday, The person answering the phone told me they had in stock the blizzard cake I requested. Great! so I drive the 40 minute drive the day of the party to get the blizzard cake I ask for, that was supposedly in stock and I get there its chaos! I asked a boy who worked there that I needed this certain blizzard cake because I called and he said we don't carry that, we only have 4 kinds. What!! that's not what I was told. I was told it was in stock!!! I settled for a gross flavor and I look over and see a book where you can order it. That's why I called to begin with! to see if I had to order what I wanted. I asked the kid, its right there in the book that I can get it. So I asked him Umm its right there in the book, if I ordered it you could of make it? he says I don't know. I normally have a good experience here but today not so much. And I’m writing the review because this is the second time this has happened. The first time I let it go bc people make mistakes but today after waiting in line for a half hour I’m just super annoyed. They completely missed an item I ordered and when asking them to fix it I was told “I can’t do it from the computer only the other computer does it.” When saying this she pointed to the computer behind her so what I don’t understand is why couldn’t she type it in on that computer and have me wait in the parking lot for the food. On top of missing an item, one of my orders was completely wrong. This worker was too busy flirting with her male coworkers to realize the mistakes that could have been avoided or at least fixed.
