Mezeh is finally here! Wanted to take advantage of their buy a drink get a free bowl deal on April 11th. I’m sure plenty of us have had Cava so food items are similar.
I will say the people and the atmosphere was great. But, I usually do take out anyway.
Now for the food. Honestly, a little lackluster. I think some food items needed a little bit more flavor/salt. I don’t like super salty food, but I wasn’t getting any different flavors or anything that popped out at me. I wasn’t blown away by the flavors, or when I was able to try individual items before mixing my bowl. I also am not impressed with the salad options. I love Cava because you get hearty salads especially with the shaved brussel sprouts, but at Mezeh you get options of lettuce, arugula, spinach, or just spring salad.
I’m sure people will disagree, but I was overwhelmed with all the toppings. I didn’t know what to get or choose and because it was my first time, I wanted a little of everything which caused commotion because my bowl would not close by the end. HA!
I do like their pita they give you as it is thicker than Cava’s and you can open it up and fill it. The sauces are similar to Cava, too. I opted for S’hug and lemon garlic. Both okay, too.
Also the mandarin cardamom drink was great out of the 4 they have. The food is also halal which is very nice and inclusive.
Overall, I think Cava reigns superior for me, but I’m not upset at their take on Mediterranean bowls and couldn’t be upset when I only spent $3 on...
Read moreI honestly never leave reviews but tonight however I felt the need too…. Let me start by saying I’ve been going here ever since they first opened in this location. It’s always friendly from the moment you walk in to the moment you leave and the foods always good tonight I DONT KNOW what was going on but it just want that this time I don’t complain about waiting especially when it’s busy and it’s short staffed I don’t know the lady who did my order but she bluntly had an attitude assuming that it was just busy and she might’ve been tired I don’t know there where only two people and it was pretty busy I waited idk 20 mins not too bad but what really got me was when it was my turn I asked for two bowls to go and she immediately just gave me a judgmental face as much as the foods amazing I don’t think I could eat 2 bowls myself let alone finish an entire one lol… now let’s get to filling up the bowl all was pretty fine except they where low on rice which she turned to ask a coworker if they had more but her demeanor showed she didn’t want too they where almost out of a lot of the toppings at the end when I asked for the Harrisa sauce she looked at me and said no and that they only have 2 options which was weird considering there was at least a quarter full of it sitting right on the counter when I went to pay the scanner for rewards wherent working in all honesty I’m very disappointed with today’s interaction I think a manager or someone higher up should check this...

I came in to grab a to go bowl. The guy with the hat helping me out had a mean attitude. He kept saying "that's enough" which is not something nice to say especially when someone is paying for their food. He closed my bowl lid and said that enough no toppings. :( he refused to give me tortilla chip topping and sunflower seeds but open insisting he was very hesitant. I spoke up because my kid was watching and I wanted to teach my kid that it's OK to speak up especially when we are not wrong. I told the other 2 employees and they didn't seem to care. I'd be OK with bad food but not saying enough when I do know that there is a limit to protein and other toppings. I only got falafel. I even paid extra for bread so I'm not sure where the pain in serving us came from. This same guy seemed perfectly happy serving the party who came right after us.
I asked that guy's name but he refused to tell me his name. My question- if he didn't do something wrong, why refuse/fear?
I'd appreciate if you address this with him so he doesn't treat...
