The owners/ bar tenders were attentive while there even with a party going on and huge groups. I made my own wine flight trying the Rosé, Chianti, & Cabernet.
Donovan recommended the Cab. And I'm not a Cabernet person usually because they can be so dry. And it was a night and day difference from what we get here shopping. It didn't have a strong peppery after taste, even having a good thicker body to it (higher in tannins), and was sweet.
Their rosé was sweet and a little dry after. Light and enjoyable though. But it definitely made me want another glass which is when I tried the Chianti. I've never had one to compare it to anything, but it wasn't bad! I still enjoyed it because I like wine!
But I still preferred the Cabernet. Who would've thought? & ended my night with the cab.
The owners recommended the caprese and I had to try it. That's what made me ever fall in love with wine, lol! It was amazing!
Very reasonable pricing. The place is a relaxed bar but not fully a bar vibe which is good because bars arent my scene LOL. It was so welcoming and inviting. A few older kids were there with families even. All in all though, I'm excited for the slushies coming soon! Definitely check it out, they are a new upcoming spot and excited to see the...
Read moreLocated on High St. in downtown Hamilton, It has a lovely interior in an older building. We visited for a glass of wine and a light bite. In addition to wine, they offer a selection of beer on tap and in bottles, and some bourbon. The wine selection is not extensive, but it does have a balanced selection of dry vs sweet and red vs white.
The menu also features some light bites. We ordered a charcuterie. It was average, I thought the selection of ingredients could be improved. Our wines - glasses of Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Grigio - were served at a perfectly chilled temperature and very good.
The prices are moderate. Was surprised to see they did not offer wine to purchase for take home. This place has potential to be a great addition to the mix of places in Hamilton. However, it would be nice to see some added features such as: whole bottle wine sales for take-out, educational wine classes, wine flights accompanied by informative descriptions, and a rotating selection of weekly or monthly featured wines to add variety...
Read moreThis is a lovely, upscale wine and tapas experience at reasonable prices. The service is excellent. I felt very welcome here and I love how detailed the wine list is. If you’re not a wine person, there’s beer and liquor options as well. If you’re not sure what you want, the servers are happy to explain the different types of wine to you. The food is limited but I really enjoyed the charcuterie board for 2. Various meat, cheeses, nuts and delicious chocolate! My favorite drink so far has been the High Street Sparkler. It’s an evening mimosa with lovely fruity notes. I took one star off for the atmosphere because it can get really loud in here on the weekends. Not sure what can be done because the place is so small. But it’s definitely a unique Hamilton experience that everyone should try...
