Imagine a time vortex in the middle of Hammond , Louisiana...you enter this free standing (mostly empty) establishment thinking you are there to dine with friends or to enjoy one of the high gloss, photo-shopped, advertised selections. It had been a couple of years since I had been to an Ihop so I was eager to try it again...for nostalgic reasons and out of hunger. Let us establish that things move slowly in the South and IHOP doesn't disappoint there, moving even slower. Our party of four arrived at 8:30pm and three tables were being used, no one else was in line, those seated and eating gave no clue as to how long they had been in their spots. We waited for 30 minutes to be seated. After being seated, we waited another 30 minutes for our drink order, another 30 minutes for our food order. The food came out cold (it was supposed to be hot) and tasteless. Another party arrived at some point, sat down, waited and waited and waited, ordered food and waited and waited and waited, then left (smart move on their part). It was 11:30pm by the time we received the bill, trying to give the waitress our credit card as she handed us the check to avoid another long wait, we were promised a quick return to settle up...which took another 30 minutes. This place would be perfect for those people with empty lives needing to kill half a day (or night), those who want to be included in a time lapse documentary about time lapse documentaries, or for those on death row wanting to make their last meal last as long as it possibly can without worrying about taste and flavor. As for the next time I am hungry and wanting a bit of nostalgia with my meal, I will be going to Waffle House...right down the street! Ps: do not let the one star rating fool you - I was forced to apply at least one star...which gives the false assumption that this establishment deserved at least one gold star (kind of like a...
Read moreHope this feedback finds you well. I am a customer who will like to address a customer service experience at one of your IHOP location in Hammond, La. Upon arrival to the restaurant on Sept 14, 2025 @ 10:15am, my family and I had high hopes of enjoying a great breakfast. Needless to say, that was not the case this morning. Upon arrival to the restaurant after hostess seating. The waiter in our section was not professional with their customer service skills. We sat for about 15 min plus before the waiter came to us to take our drink order. Upon coming to our table, their was not introduction of the waiter name to us, no curtesy of acknowledgement at all. The first thing said to us was "what do you want to drink". After drinks was given to us, 20min later our order was taken @10:50am. My family and I sat from 11am to 11:47am waiting on our breakfast to arrive. During this time not one time did the waiter come back to us to ask if we needed more drink or were we ok, nothing. My husband then went and spoke to a manager and asked about our food as to after a 45 min wait we had not received in a timely manner. Nevertheless, after an hr wait, our food came to the table cold with missing sides. Not one time did the waiter even come back to our table after our food was delivered to ask, if everything looks ok, if their was anything we needed no nothing. The situation with the food and waiter was also brought to the manager attention. An apology was made from the manager and that was it. No kind of consideration to the situation at hand. By this time, aggravation had already sat in. My family and I ate cold food, with bad customer service at this IHOP location. Nevertheless, we will not be back to patronize your restaurant. Wishing you the best with finding good workers who know to exercise customer service skills in this field. Looking forward to sharing my experience with many...
Read moreEvery time I visited this place it was always a problem with the staff. But I overlooked it because the food is good. But this past weekend did it for me. My boyfriend and I came here after seeing a movie. It was late and no other place was open that late. We were hungry and wanted pancakes. We walk into the place, and 4 different employees kept passing us never once acknowledging us. My boyfriend was getting aggravated and sat down and I kept standing hoping someone would help us. After waiting maybe 10 minutes one of the guys noticed we weren't leaving. So he walked up to us saying they were temporarily closed due to the kitchen being cleaned and they were only serving who was in there. We were so confused because we never heard of anything like that. Wouldn't there be a sign up informing us you weren't open? I've been to that place while they were cleaning the store and replacing seats and other stuff and still served us. So my boyfriend asked when will they reopen because we just wanted food even if it were to go. They guy said he didn't know rudely. So they made us wait 10 minutes just to turn us around. As we were leaving out a group of guys came in and were seated right away. As we pulled out I noticed an employee smoking out back and asked him how true it was that they were closed. I can tell he was lying. He said yes because they didn't have enough hands on deck. And I said well I thought the kitchen was closed. Then he changed his story. I said well they didnt seat us but did the other people behind us. He encouraged us to go back in knowing i caught the lies. Needless to say never again! If you didn't want to serve us just say so, don't waste our time...
