The staff was great! Very polite very knowledgeable, my problem is not with the staff. But I just have to say, I've been vegan for 10 years and I don't have a whole lot of options from restaurants. My favorite dish is the eggplant musaka. And the meatless grape leaves. My review has nothing to do against the customer service that I received here, but something is wrong with this particular locations recipe of the eggplant moussaka. And trust me, I tried ordering it there several times to be disappointed and I've eaten this dish from alabashas for years sometimes a couple times a week so I know what it's supposed to taste like. Every other alabashas has the seasoning right, it has the appropriate amount of vegetables, tomatoes and peppers correct.. But, when I order it from here it is completely bland it doesn't even taste like eggplant rosaka it barely has any vegetables in it mostly just onions and a few bell peppers maybe one tomato and The gravy is mostly oil and it looks orangey instead of being a reddish base with just a little oil, obviously.. No offense to the cooks but it is absolutely horrific here. I don't know what's the problem or if they don't know how to make it, or what it is supposed to look like, and taste like,.. I really really would love for y'all to look into this so that I can enjoy my favorite dish here. I would love to be able to come here and get eggplant moussaka that tastes and looks like it does at the other alabashas restaurants. I would love for this to be addressed, because I KNOW THAT THIS RESTAURANT HAS GREAT FOOD!! Not only that, it's clean and the staff is great! But, ...this is a message to the owner, I have wanted to say something about this for a while.. But I never did because restaurants usually don't care. Why would you go and fix your dish or take my word for it, right?.. So I I KIND OF FEEL LIKE I'M WASTING MY TIME saying something.. but, I would HOPE that you would want to know that this dish really needs some attention. And I say that respectfully. Thank you!.. everything else...
Read moreI'll give you 2.5 stars. 4 stars for the foods but 1 star for service, which I will round DOWN. My wife and I went on July 9th to get take out for my parent's anniversary and were so excited to try the food. Everything was going great right until the VERY end when the server was bringing the food and at about four feet from us the bag came apart and ALL the food came out and onto the floor!
We were in total shock and disbelief at this, being so close to having our food and now we would have to wait. During this time, NO ONE even came to apologize or offer any type of assurance that the restaurant would do their BEST to make sure our order was going to be of top notch quality. Being that my wife and I have both previously worked as servers, we were totally dismayed by the entire staff's behavior toward this situation.
Before leaving the restaurant, we double checked to make sure everything was in order, which it was. This time, the order came in TWO bags - one for hot and one for cold items. Instead of one bag containing all the food, which was the server's mistake in the first place as there was no way this brown bag could hold all this food together.
My parent's were none the wiser about what happened and enjoyed their food very much at home. However, my wife and I are were appalled that it was just business as usual during our wait and no one even bothered to check up on us, offer us a drink while we waited, or assure us that our order would be of the highest standard and quality (since it fell on the floor).
Since the food did come out to be quite tasty, at some point we will consider to dine-in. I hope our experience will change and we will receive much better service...
Read moreAlbasha is a re-heatery, not a kitchen. Our food was sad, previously frozen, and bland. The chicken in my “shawarma” was so dry I felt like I was eating jerky. The pita bread is obviously commercially made and frozen. I put shawarma in quotes because it was just a grilled chicken wrap. Not authentic at all. I’ve been to several countries in the Middle East and this “shawarma” was a disgrace. Furthermore, the “salad” was just a handful of only lettuce, and a sloppy scoop of sauce on top. This “salad” is going straight to my chickens when I get home. I don’t know how I can order a salad, and a shawarma from a Lebanese “restaurant” and not have a single onion. Being polish and Hungarian I have high expectations for cabbage rolls. They were a little bland but overall the saving grace of my lunch. The stuffed cabbages are very different to the polish style I grew up with, but were delicious and I found it amazing having such different tastes to the same dish I knew so well.
For $65 I’m unhappy and will not be returning. This should have been a $25-$30 meal for the quality. Is there an onion shortage...
