As I get to the register to pay for an item, who I believe to be the manager comes up to me and rudely says "so are you going to pay for the cards, too?" To which I reply "what cards?"
Manager then proceeds to bring me a torn box of Magic: The Gathering playing cards and falsely accuses me of shoplifting what appeared to be a couple dollars at most worth of playing cards. I was not near them during my entire visit in the store, nor do I even play the game at all. Angry at the false accusation, I explain to her "I didn't take any cards. All I have is the purchase in my hand right now. You have the wrong person." She says "okay then we'll check the cameras".
I walk out, not thinking much of it, and the manager and the same employee are following me outside of the store, taking pictures of me and my car!
I can't believe I have to say this in 2025, but not every person of color is a suspect. Some are genuine customers with a love for books. I wouldn't recommend shopping here at all. There are nicer, cheaper, and less biased...

When I asked the associate this hello to direct me she was very kind and did see it showed the books were in stock. Unfortunately she also confirmed nothing was alphabetized or in any specific order other than generalized topic areas. No one offered to help me find the books I was looking for, and I wandered around until I just gave up and left. Not exactly a great experience, even more so under the circumstances I was under. Staff was nice at least though! Not really their fault that the company doesn't have better...
