Halal Desi Pizza & Gyro's — Restaurant in Hamtramck

I had the bbq chicken pizza and the lamb pizza.

The bbq chicken pizza was phenomenal and possessed a very distinct flare or taste from how most American chain pizza joints make BBQ chicken pizza. You can hardly tell one from another. But not here.

My only lament was I wish they put more chicken on it. Maybe I'm just greedy. I guess I will just have to order mine with extra chicken from now on. Lol

The lamb pizza was tight but, I found it a bit bland or dull because that's all that was on the pizza (no other toppings). I judge it harshly only because I felt it could've been so much more.

When I ordered the lamb a second time I added onions, tomatoes, and green peppers and just like that, the pizza sprang to life. It tasted astounding.

The prices for their food is incredibly reasonable, practically half of what you'd pay at an established chain pizza joint.

The service is quick and friendly.

just earlier, i placed an order on the phone for 1 order of THREE somosas. i repeat, THREE. and 3 orders of mozzerella sticks. they say "10 minutes." so me and my mother head over to a nearby store for some slurpees, then we head over to desi's. we grab our stuff, right? we're expecting three somosas, and fifteen cheese sticks. we get back, there's only one somosa in there, and thirteen mozzerella sticks. i would go back, but this time it's really dissapointed me. not to mention, i couldn't understand a single thing they said. and it seemed as if it was the same way the other way around. i always hate making calls up there, but again, i would go back because the food is okay. and it's the only place i can actually get mozzerella sticks without having to pay 20$...

Little disappointed in the gyro sandwich seeing as it said it was there best seller I love gyros , I was thinking they had meat turning on the spindle thing , i like Coney Islands better even Olga’s gyros, this one tasted more curry or Indian food I was expecting a Greek gyro , it tasted like curry ground beef on a pita nothing like the gyros I’m accustomed too , I guess that’s what they meant by ny style I’ll stick to Detroit style I’m sorry it was edible but just didn’t hit like I was hoping I mean I like curry I just wasn’t expecting it from a gyro , the sample of fries they gave me was straight, I should’ve known when he said something about ranch and...
