We visit Hanford every year from Chicago and were so excited to see this new Vietnamese restaurant open up—and wow, it did not disappoint! The space is bright, clean, and welcoming. Service was excellent, and our food came out quickly and hot—a big plus when you’re hungry and traveling. We ordered the P5 Pho Rare Steak & Meatball and the C8 Rice Plate with Vietnamese Crispy Roasted Chicken (with the orange rice). Both dishes were phenomenal. The pho broth was rich and flavorful, the noodles perfectly cooked, and the meat was tender and tasty. The rice plate was a standout—the chicken was crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and the orange rice added a delicious, unique touch. Prices were very reasonable, especially given the quality and portion sizes. They also have fruit smoothies and a really solid menu overall—lots of great options to try next time. Coming from a food city like Chicago, our expectations were high, but this place exceeded them. We’ll definitely be back before we head home, and we hope this gem is here to stay. Hanford needed a spot like this!

This will be my forever place to get banh mi. I can actually taste their homemade mayo. Their pate is a bit runnier than normal which causes some sogginess in the bread. This place is the only one I’ve found with actual Vietnamese mayo. It’s not as strong as the ones I’ve remembered from the Bay Area, but as it’s their grand opening, I hope they’ll perfect it someday. I ordered 2 banh mi and a bowl of pho. Their kiosk is there for takeouts, not dine in. My banh mi were messed up a bit but I’m not too mad at it. I can just pick out the onions. Since it is their grand opening, new staff members will make mistakes that can be corrected in the future.

I love bahn mi. Im also no expert, so this is just my opinion after having it multiple places in multiple cities, and then here. This was definitely my least favorite. I've never had a pork belly bahn mi that wasn't crispy, it was thin sliced and cold and I did not enjoy the taste of it. Also, I've never had pate on it unless I asked for it. Looks like its a staple for the sandwich here, so if you dont want that be aware to ask them to take it off. I got this order doordash so I cant speak to the inside or the staff.

So my wife and I decided to stop by to dine in on a Sunday 8/10/2025 for lunch around noon. This would be our second time trying out this business. We always like to support local business around the area, and today we regret coming in to support this business and I'll share our experience why.

Normally most restaurants along with who they employ as there workers/servers would be attentive to provide their customer/patrons with menus and water to their table. We waited approximately 15 minutes for a server to approach our table. After one of the servers when we entered the restaurant had asked us if we were ordering food to go or dining in. My wife said dine in and he said we could sit anywhere we like.

My wife and I waited another 10 minutes until she got up to the front area to order food, STILL no one brought us a menu. We ordered the "A6. Steamed Shrimp Spring Rolls", Two orders of "A10. Coconut Panda Waffle", C6. Korean Ribs Rice Plate" and One Pineapple Tea.

My wife paid for everything up front while we wait for our food to show up to our table. She told me the owner, Alex took all of our orders. We waited for about 10 minutes when the owner brought out the Shrimp Spring rolls. Then my Korean Ribs, Rice dish came out within another 15 minutes.

My wife went to check up front and spoke with management regarding our Pandan Waffles and Pineapple Tea? Management came back to our table to address that there were issues with their system, explaining to us that for some reasons the order for the ticket never show on their end and that they had no way of knowing the order came through. However we had the hardcopy of the receipt that we paid for all the orders. We showed him our receipt which we paid in full already and he took our receipts to verify the order.

Another 10 minutes goes by, still we haven't receive our complete order of the Coconut Panda Waffle and Pineapple Tea?! At this point we ended ordering one more dish but it would be to go. It was their P1. Pho Station Special.

I had just finished eating my Korean Ribs rice dish and shrimp spring rolls, still we didn't receive our waffles and drinks!? So while we were still waiting for the rest of the order, my wife went up front again to cancel our two orders of the waffles and Pineapple Tea. I was getting thirsty as well.

Since my wife was up front again she told the Alex that she wanted to cancel the other orders since we never receive them. Alex wanted her to pay the difference for the Pho. The owner requested $5 for the difference being paid. Crazy enough my wife left them a tip in their tip jar since we paid in full. If we would've known the type of service we would be receiving, she wouldn't had left a tip!

If it was me, for the business being a inconvenience and not providing quality customer service they shouldn't come across condescending and rude towards their patrons. We wanted to give them a benefit of a doubt but after the experience we received, and the not soo sincere apology after we left. I wouldn't recommend this business to any of my friends and family. Seems they care more about the profits & money then focusing on how they speak and their approach how they communicate with the patrons who dines in.

My tip for this business is they should retrain their employees on being more attentive, to assist with providing quality customer service to those looking to help out their business. I wish this business luck and hope no one else dealt with the frustration we have experienced today.

We would rather drive to Fresno or Visalia to get our crave for Vietnamese Cuisine. I was going to rate & change my star from a 5 star⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ to a 1 star⭐. Since the food was actually good, I downgraded it to a 2⭐⭐ star because of the poor customer service and negative...

The large Bahn Mi photos on the outside of the building convinced me to stop in after errands and give it a try! I usually drive to Fresno for my bahn mi fix so i cant explain how excited I am to have a place available locally. I bought a vermicelli bowl, spring rolls, a special bahn mi, as well as one of their strawberry tea drinks to go. I walked up to the digital kiosk that is available for togo orders and was happy about the variety of dishes available. I think having photos on the kiosk and a full description of the dish would really help customers make their choice. They were out of strawberry popping boba but the cashier let me know quickly and i was able to get a different flavor boba added instead. The flavors of their dishes were really nice! My vermicelli bown meat had too much char on some pieces and some parts did have a burnt taste unfortunately, but I think thats something that will improve with time. My bahn mi was packaged in a plastic container instead of parchment paper and rubberbands like other shops. Overall deinitely going to be a staple in my weeks from now on. Next time I'm able to dine in, I'll be...

I was really excited when I heard that Hanford was finally getting a Vietnamese restaurant, but unfortunately, my experience left me disappointed.

The pho broth lacked the signature flavors that make pho what it is—there was barely any trace of the distinct pho spices or fish sauce. It also didn’t seem like the broth had been properly prepared with charred onion and ginger, which are essential for depth of flavor.

As for the banh mi, it didn’t taste authentic at all. It was missing the usual balance of pickled vegetables, pate, and the right kind of bread. It was also odd to find green onions in it, which is not typical in a traditional banh mi.

On top of that, the service needs serious improvement. The servers were not very attentive or welcoming, and some seemed to be actively avoiding customers. The only bright spot was Violet—she was attentive, helpful, and seemed to be the only one actually working during my visit. Shout out to her for doing her best in a tough situation.

Lastly, I do miss Happy Eats. I always enjoyed the music and the overall atmosphere there. The new place’s music is just okay...
