Came to get a meal after a trip the emergency room for my daughter. We got there around 915p. Seated promptly. My mom and other 2 daughters arrived before my daughter and I. When we arrived, my drink order was taken but she didn't bother to ask my daughter, instead just started walking off. So that was issue 1. When she brought the drinks she asked for our order. We literally had had a menu in hand for ten minutes. So, we asked for more time. Waitress walked to the register and immediately returned asking again for the order, not are you ready, what do we want to order. Again asked for more time. She did the same thing. This time when we asked for a few minutes she said, well, your order needs to be in like now, it's almost 930 and we close at 10, you knew that, didn't you? Because yea we close at 10 but I'm sure you be ready in a moment. I was shocked at her rude tone and poor choice of words, and her irritated, condescending expression on her face. At that point, I was done. I didn't order. The rest of the table did. Food came out quickly though, maybe 5minutes? It was fine. Now, when we were done eating, at approximately 10-15min before closing, about her couple came in, sat down, and she was also their waitress. She did not act the same towards them. She didn't rush them, comment on closing time, nothing. The way she spoke to us made it seem like we were a burden to her, like our presence was such an inconvenience for her. While at the register paying the tab, we spoke with, I believe, the manager. She wasn't surprised, and honestly didn't care. She didn't apologize or anything. I did say I won't be coming back to this diner again. She looked at me, didn't say a word and looked toward my mother, who was also relaying the experience. The woman seemed really disinterested. Awful experience tonight. Usually their soups and desserts are great, but I opted not to order and give money to a restaurant who allows customers to be treated this way. I won't...
Read morePretty good food when I was a little kid in Tamaqua Diner before they expanded I got the same restaurant quality pancake batter there and they tasted the same in Bethlehem Diner in 2018 they could have been a little bit lighter but I love gooey and light pancakes. So I understand they must make them not as light as I wish but they were delicious a little bit pricey for only two or three pancakes but they were pretty big and very tasty! Went over there I think before midnight and the place was totally packed, Denny's next door barely had anybody there and Google reviews we're not good at all. Go where everybody else goes and usually you get pretty good food. And I can't specify about their other food but those pancakes were awesome if they were much lighter even better but I understand they must make them to a certain point. When I make pancakes I wait until they bubble just a little and foot them. I like my pancakes and brownies and all that kind of thing light and gooey it just tastes so good. But I understand their philosophy and why they do it.
All in all pretty good pretty good but it was pretty expensive like four or five dollars for only three pancakes but they were really good actually. So I can't complain. But you only get one refill of your drink I do believe after that it's some kind of charge I forget now.
I do suggest you go to them when they are very busy and the parking lot is packed for them that is when we went and it was late at night and it was packed to the brim still delicious and did not take too long from ordering until receiving our food. But I guess pancakes are pretty easy to make. First time there so I wasn't sure what to order so I just spent with pancakes! Can't go wrong...
Read moreHorrible experience today, 3/14/18 at 7pm. I am a middle aged woman and came to the Bethlehem diner for the first time, just for some coffee and a Belgian waffle, alone. The older male owner seated me with disgust, as if I was a bother. I was reading stuff on my iPhone and was pleasant the whole time. The 50yr old brunette waitress takes my order and acts like I’m crazy for ordering breakfast items, not friendly. I ordered a little more so the bill would be a little higher. The food took a while, but that’s alright. I asked her if people ever order breakfast in the evening, and she said all the time! I could not understand why the waitress was acting so unusual. The food was cold, but I had it anyway and then the bill came- my waitress starts talking to me as if I am 5 yrs old (no exaggeration), and says “Wow! Look at you, you ate the whole waffle and the whole meal, good for you!” I asked her why she is talking to me like a child. She replies, “oh, I just could not eat that much, could never finish one of those Belgium waffles!” I replied “I don’t understand why you are shaming me for eating here, and you might not want to do this to a woman like me, I had eating disorders when I was a kid, and you’ll just make people feel uncomfortable”. She acted ignorant and I told the young lady at the register, who didn’t act surprised. Also the bathroom and salad bar are pig styes and I will warn everyone I know not to go to this restaurant. Also, the place does...
