Hello, goodbye. This was my second time at a red robin. There wouldn't be a second if this was my first.
My first was a few miles south at the promenade. All craft beer tap list and a nice environment. Here at the airport intersection, it was the opposite.
Long story short. If this was your first visit to a red robin, give the other a try. If you need to kill time at the airport, your better off going through tsa a second time... Not really. Better off eating in the airport.
The details. Know how major airports and city's have cramped restaurants... This was worse. Wasn't even busy but we were given a table the size of two tv dinners.. And there were 3 of us... And the third was my 2 year old. You need more space with a toddler, not less. Plus with all stuff on the table. Ketchup, salt, tablet,etc... All of which were slimy for some reason. You don't want a toddler reaching for your hot plate or your beer. The table next to us, elbow rubbing distance. And with no room to leave, the guys butt rubbed my water glass on his way out, because it was at the edge since it was a cramped table. Then the sunset. Not normally a complainer, especially about sunsets, but this was right in my eye. Blinding. The waitress, who i have no complaints about, closed a blind when she saw it, but others kept opening it. Probably because it was on the door to go outside. So either way, it was like paparazzi when people were going in and out. Also the awkward corner, and me being 6ft almost 200lbs, i was constantly bumped by bus tubs, and kicked by pedestrians. This was not the worst dining experience ever.... It was the worst seat I've ever had at a dining experience. And finally, the least important, they got my food wrong, all of it. Not the waitress fault, she knew what i ordered off the top of her head, and knew the burger shouldn't have tortillas on it and fixed it. Same with dessert.
Basically I'm normally a local eater, i was surprised how much i liked the other RR. 3 stars there. Food is still glorified fast food with an atmosphere and a bar. But it had good beer and music and was friendly (and kid friendly)
This was all unacceptable and turned me off from going back to...
Read moreTried the new ribs today for lunch, came out burned to a crisp, couldn’t barely get the knife to cut through them. Finally sawed through them and they were bright pink inside, so they were sent back. 10 minutes later the new order comes out, knife cuts through the like butter, I’m thinking sweet these are going to be good ribs. Look inside and again as pink as it can be and cold. Sent them back again for an entirely different menu item, waitress kept apologizing and it wasn’t her fault at all, comes back with new item and tells me the check will be comped, we finished our meal and get the check. Now I’m expecting some kind of discount by the manager or something, not expecting a free meal by any means. Look at the check and the comped meal was the ribs that weren’t even cooked!!! No other discount, no coupon for another visit or anything, not even an apology from the manager. Paid the bill and asked to talk to manager, informed manager of what happened both times and the so called managers response was I’ll speak to the kitchen about it so it doesn’t happen again that’s not safe for pink food to go out and thanks me for my feedback and ends conversation. Not once did the manager even attempt to try to convince me to come back ever again or even offer to anything for my inconvenience, any other establishment would have given more effort to assure me my raw food order is unacceptable and done something to either discount my meal, or done something to convince me to come back again, but not this manager. Didn’t seem to even phase him the food was cold and pink, not...
Read moreThree of us came into Allentown to celebrate a Birthday. We picked up the fourth party on the way to Red Robin, one of our favorite places for a quick bite. The first red flag was that table we moved from had seats that were torn badly. We were moved to a table that didnt look like it had been cleaned well. We moved beyond that, and started our meal by ordering the onion ring tower. I was instantly disappointed. The onion rings were greasy and they tasted like they were fried in old oil. If you know what I mean, you know. Two of us ordered the clucks, mine with a salad. The salad was sad, wilted. The four finger-sized clucks, tasted like they were refried and had the same after tasted as the oinion rings. I had to really dunk the ones I could eat in sauce. Another in our party ordered the Red Robin burger with the egg. The bun was so "wet" that it fell apart after a few bites. Why was it so greasy? Since it was a celebration, two in the party ordered the brownie with ice cream, one had the freckled cake, and I had the kiddy version of the hot fudge sundae. The brownies were hard, perhaps stale, and my sundae was mostly whipped cream and fudge. I think they forgot the ice cream. For over $120.00 you shouldn't leave a chain restaurant hungry but two of us that couldn't eat what was served, did. Normally I would have called attention to the food issues but I didn't want to ruin the evening for the sweet girl who we were celebrating. Sometimes you have to pick your battles. What has happened...
