I recently checked into this Fairfield Inn by Marriott, and let me tell you—it was beyond disappointing. While the front desk agent Melanie was the one bright spot (thank you, Melanie, for trying to salvage what is otherwise a disaster), the rest of the property is shockingly subpar.||The hotel is dirty, outdated, and in dire need of serious renovations. Mold and mildew plague the rooms, filling the air with a musty odor that clings to your lungs. After just one night, my head and throat were killing me. I’m convinced this place needs a full health inspection. The hallways and main lobby? Stifling hot and equally unpleasant. To make it worse, there are stains everywhere—on the floors, on the ceiling, like the place hasn’t seen a deep clean in years.||I even had the pleasure of discovering bug bait traps in my room. Yes, you read that right—bug bait traps. I should’ve run for the hills at that point, but it was family weekend at Lehigh, and every other place was full. So I stayed. Big mistake.||Now for the highlight reel: the mattresses are busted, and you’ll feel every spring digging into your back. The highway noise? Oh, that’s just the constant soundtrack to your night of no sleep. The pillows are so soft they may as well not exist—your head sinks straight to the coils. The icing on the cake? A morning shower that feels like someone is spitting lukewarm water on you, thanks to zero water pressure. My teen son, in a desperate attempt to mask the mildew smell, sprayed half a can of Axe body spray around the room. Lucky me.||And as if things couldn’t get worse, every single surface is covered in a layer of dust. It’s like a time capsule from when this place last got cleaned—whenever that was.||This property is managed by VIII HII Hôtel Drive Hersha Hospitality Management, who clearly couldn’t care less about the state of this dump. Google generously lists this as a 2-star hotel, but that’s a stretch. The positive reviews? They must be fake, because there’s no way anyone in their right mind could recommend this place.||Marriott, it’s time to take a good, hard look at this property and remove your name from it. This is not a Fairfield Inn—this is a motel in the worst possible sense. Do yourself a favor: avoid this place...

Its definitely not worth it’s going rate of over $150/night! Jeff, the manager, was rude and could care less about hospitality. When we checked in on Monday July 19th, my debit card did not have the extra $100 they wanted to charge for incidentals. I booked the room for 4 nights originally (we had been staying the Courtyard in Bethlehem since July 1st), as I have been waiting since the end of June for an apartment to become available.
As a result of only having $400+ available on my card to pay for the room, the manager was contacted on his cell phone by the front desk host. Since I didn’t have an extra $100 I was forced to reduce our stay to only 3 nights.
Fast forward to yesterday, Wednesday July 21st. I received a call at work from my nephew (who lives with me). He was at the hospital being prepared for emergency appendectomy. We were scheduled to have to check out in the morning & the original plan was for him to move us to our new reservation at Hawthorne Suites today, while I worked from 7 am to 7 pm. He obviously was told to rest, not lift heavy things, and other activities now limited by his abdominal surgery.
It wasn’t even after 3 pm when I got back to the hotel, first stopping at the hospital, after leaving work early to be with him. I explained what was going on to the front desk host. I politely asked if we could either extend our stay til Saturday when I was off work or be allowed to check out of the hotel earlier and not pay for the last night. I would need to move us from one hotel to another and had no other choice but to do it last night.
Once again “Jeff” was contacted on his cell phone. The hope was that since this was truly an emergency, she could obtain approval to end our stay one night earlier than expected. I was told I was welcome to check out early, but my card would be charged for remaining night. This was so disappointing.
Oh don’t forget the hotel is only about 15 yards from main highway in Allentown, which was extremely loud. The breakfast is a joke. Don’t stay here unless you have no other choice & definitely don’t look to the manager to...
Read moreAfter leaving the Best Western in Intercourse, Pa., where everything and everyone was lovely this was a complete let down. To give a picture, we are an 80ish couple and I use a walker. When we arrived to check in, the two clerks (one male, one female) were engaged in a conversation. When the male finally acknowledged my presence, the female asked if I was checking in. OK. Gave her my name and asked for a luggage cart. Response to the effect of ‘our luggage cart is being repaired (I could see the guy lying on the floor trying to fix it), but your room isn’t far.’ Not a good first impression. The cart was fixed quickly and the guy asked who was looking for one and he took it outside to my husband. Now we’re given our room keys, room 111, go to the room and there’s a refrigerator in the middle of the floor. I wheeled myself back to the desk and told the female clerk (male gone now) that there’s a refrigerator in the middle of the room. She didn’t seem to comprehend the problem. I said I can’t get around a refrigerator in the middle of the room with my walker. So do you want another room. Yes please. She then called someone and started to tell them of my complaint, then broke into another language with her/him while looking at me as though I was the problem. RUDE !! I walked back to the original room to get my husband who was waiting there and another woman (manager?) walked in and said ‘how did that get there’ about the refrigerator. She told me she’d have it fixed and I told her we already got another room. The room was ok for one night but could have been vaccummed. I had to go back to the desk for coffee for the room and tissues. When we turned on the tv that night, we realized it didn’t work very well. The video was all pixlillated (if that’s what you call it), but I had no intentions of going back to that desk and that very annoyed face again. The cleaning staff had their cart parked in the middle of the hallway, standing there gabbing and gave me a look when I was trying to maneuver my walker around it. No friendly faces here. Now that’s a mistake. Desk lady gave me a big smile when I...
