We booked online, as in this trip from Florida through mountains huddle, through national parks, through Luray caverns, through WASHINGTON DC, we have stayed in several hotels along the way, because we had done well in this chain called RED Roff, the Two previous ones had excellent attention and very clean rooms but something changed here, a tiny room without a refrigerator (which we occupy for some fixed things) without a microwave oven? unfortunately I must say the room was dirty the bed half made on the run. My husband went to ask if they could change us and the lady at the reception desk surely had a bad day because she only noted on a blank paper that room 201 did not have a refrigerator or microwave? It seems there was no other room. I go downstairs and ask - If there is no other room, can you give us the money to leave? her answer was no. to which she gave us a paper so that we could write that we wanted to leave and why we were leaving. that the next day he would give it to the administrator and he would decide if he would return the money to us! so as not to exhaust them with the story 1) the lady at the reception must be enabled for those quick decisions and give a good answer but never a negative and an arrogant attitude. 2) in every place where you make purchases if you do not want the product, the money back is immediate. 3) I don't know who cleans the second floor but they do it very badly. 4) After the discussion with my husband I spoke with the lady at the front desk and I apologized but my husband drives an average of 400 miles a day from Florida, he is very exhausted. We just want a room with a refrigerator and microwave. 5) When he found a room on the first floor as what we wanted, by the way, he first said that we had to pay more for the room and then he told me: -no quiet, leave it that way. if you are happy ok. 5) the lady who cleans the first floor at least she does it well and the bed was clean and well made. Something clear for my husband to this hotel not to return again. and the client is always right, so his bad character must take care of him and have a lot...
Read moreAs a solo female traveler, I stayed one night and within ten minutes of arriving, regretted making the reservation but had no other choices that late at night with such an early flight to catch. The bathroom ceiling had visible mold, the walls had stains, the sheets had stains, the towels had stains, the central outdoor staircase smelled like urine and had people sitting in it and was poorly lit, the elevator smelled like smoke and urine and there were several cars in the parking lot with people hanging out and playing loud music late into the night. At 2 am, I was woken up by a pounding on the door next to my room. This was terrifying. Turns out the police had been called to the room due to an unconscious woman. There were multiple cops directly outside of my room for over an hour, speaking with the inhabitants of the room next door and, who’s walkie talkies were on high volume the entire time. I was only staying there for its closeness to the airport, which, after this experience, I would have stayed much further away for a safer, cleaner experience. I can’t believe that I paid $185 to stay in this dirty, loud, disgusting place for mere hours. I would have rather slept at the airport, sitting upright in a stiff chair all night then to have stayed here. Avoid this place, literally, at all costs. Update: After my stay, I realized that not only had I been charge through Priceline.com but then Red Roof charged me as well. When calling the hotel to reconcile this, they were short and not helpful, denying my claim of being charged twice. It took a while to get this refunded. If I thought the experience was bad before, this was an extra special (mind...
