Extremely disappointing experience caused by a single member, Lisa, of their team this morning. After ordering through the drive thru and being asked to come to the first window, I stopped and waited at the first window, and noticed nobody was there and that there were multiple things blocking the cashier's area in that window, so I proceeded to the second window. Before opening the window, I could clearly hear the conversation going on where Lisa decided to tell the other employee, "this idiot is supposed to be at the first window, tell him to back up".
First, I believe it's bad practice to ask anyone in a drive-thru to backup at any point, especially when you can simply take the payment at the 2nd window anyway. Second, when you finally open the window after calling the guest an idiot, you should probably put on a friendly face and pretend, instead of just sticking your head out the window without greeting the guest and saying, "it's too late now, a cars going to come".
After I asked for the manager to handle the situation, Lisa made sure to stay close by with an impish grin on her face, which just furthered my belief that any time I would visit this establishment and Lisa is working, that I'd encounter similar issues. It's truly people like her and the lack of discipline that seems to follow incidents like this that continuously cause fast food and retail establishments to get the bad rep they do at times.
For me, this will just lessen/eliminate my desire to ever stop by one of these franchised McDonalds again.
The store manager however, did handle the situation as well as she could have given the circumstances. She did issue a refund and after a further conversation, offer me my meal (which Lisa had taken and removed from the window area when the manager wasn't looking) free of charge for the...
Read moreThere were 2 customers in line in front of me and three waiting for food when I walked in. A young girl was the only cashier. She was new. The manager was filling orders. There was a young girl doing the drive up and an older woman on the fries. Young guy cooking burgers. Three others not sure what they were doing. They were busy. The cashier took the two orders in front of me. Then the mgr yelled at her. Told her to stop taking orders and fill orders. So now No one was taking orders at the register. I waited 14 minutes after the that to get waited on. This did not include the time I was waiting prior to. People were complaining. The fry lady was also filling orders while she made fries and so was the drive up girl. The mgr was very frustrated. When the girl took my order the manager got mad at her again. Said to fill orders not take orders. With that he looks at every one waiting to give there order and says very rudely, we are busy so if you are in a hurry then well I guess you need to go elsewhere. With that half the line walked out. I then realized people were ordering them selves on a machine behind me. The drive up girl came and asked the manager to come. There was someone asking for the manager at the drive up. He said tell them I'm not available. I'm too busy! Another customer asked for Honey mustard and was told to take the ranch they were given and the woman waiting on her just walked away. It took 32 minutes from the time I placed my order to get 1 burger, 1 mcdouble and 2 fries. That was ridiculous. Best part. The burgers were cold. I can only guess the manager was new and needed someone to train. Him on how to run the place as well as...
Read moreThis McDonald's is not for the faint of heart. Entering the parking lot from the back is a bit nerve wracking since the pavement markings indicate you can enter but there is only a "thank you" sign with an outbound arrow at the entrance. Also, there is generally quite a bit of foot traffic in the parking lot, so you have to be on the lookout. There is a children's play area which is pretty cool but we've only used the drive thru recently so I can't comment on its condition.
Food wise, the fries were awesome, the ice cream and burger were good but the apple slices tasted a bit watery (not usually like that), the nuggets were dry, the iced tea had a distinct "old coffee" taste (also somewhat unusual) and the chocolate milk was "reduced sugar, low fat" which tasted noticeably like artificial sweetener. The chocolate milk was an issue for us because our son had summer reading prizes to 3 places and chose McDonald's because he wanted chocolate milk but he doesn't like the taste of this current one (the milk used to be regular chocolate milk) so he was disappointed. My husband and I don't even like it. So please be aware that you might end up with a thirsty child, if your child doesn't tolerate artificial sweeteners well.
Service wise, the people were competent and friendly. Our order was correct and we were taken...
