Visiting family in northern Maryland, they knew we enjoyed Mexican food so they brought us here. Plus two nieces were taking advantage of the free Line Dance lessons held in the basement of the restaurant. We watched all the dancers and agreed we could never remember all the steps if we tried

After a bit we went upstairs into the restaurant. Wow! A real sensory trip into modern Mexico. The place is decorated to the max! Seating was arranged into booths around the perimeter and tables within, with very comfy padded seats and ease of moving about. We were seated immediately, given menus, chips and salsa, and even a small dish of queso blanco - which is always extra elsewhere.

We ordered Table-side Guacamole and were treated to a show and delicious Guac. I asked for, and was brought, a dish of hot salsa that was tasty and with a good amount of heat. Sis-in-law chose the Sonora Pollo, my wife picked the Burrito Fajitas, and bro-in-law went for the Quesdilla Rellenos. Trying to stay more vegan minded I selected the Quesdilla Sonoras. Oh, and I asked about Tamales and ordered one, even though not on the menu.

Our food came shortly, piping hot and delicious. I looked at my Tamale and had to try it first. Yum! It was the best Tamale I’ve eaten since a trip to Texas 30 years ago! The perfect ratio of meat and masa. In retrospect I would have just ordered three Tamales and a side of Frijoles! My Enchilidas was excellent also and half taken home.

So I kinda expected big things from this place. And it was kinda a huge let down. Because Mexican cuisine is supposed to be light and vibrant and impactful with flavor and this was anything but those things. I got the birira tacos,and I got them on a corn tortilla. Now the birira itself was excellent besides the lack of flavor I mean it was very juicy and tender. Which Is why I was at lost when there was no real flavor behind it. The birira soup that you use to dip tasted like nothing. It added nothing special to the tacos. On tacos where the beef is supposed to be the star of the show it dissapointed, way to many onions and cilantro on the tacos. Also when you warmed the corn tortillas up in the pan in the birira sauce you didn't give them a chance to develop a crisp and therefore it was a very very soggy tortilla. It definitely didn't help with the texture issues that was already going on with the meal. The rice I received as a side had decent flavor nothing special and same with the black beans. The tortilla chips that are supposed to be fresh and homemade, we a complete miss and were staler then a shoe. Another problem I had is they rely so much on cilantro I mean everything I had, had cilantro in it. It's a great fresh herb at times and it adds a freshenes to some dishes but it's not meant for everything. So I'm gonna give them...

First time going to the restaurant and We were super impressed with the atmosphere, it is absolutely beautiful inside. Our waitress was very nice and attentive and everything came out quickly. My sister and daughter decided to split the combo fajitas. The food was dropped off and whoever dropped it off disappeared so quickly we couldn’t even ask for plates. The birria tacos were full of soggy, slimy fat. The fajitas arrived with no cheese and a very small spoonful of sour cream. We assumed the lack of cheese was an oversight, and asked for some shredded cheese. We also asked for another container of sour cream as mentioned, they were being split between two people. When we got the bill, I was shocked to say the least. We were charged $3.25 for a small condiment cup of sour cream and another $3.25 for a small condiment cup of cheese. $6.50 for those two small condiment cups. I was blown away! I asked the waitress and she said fajitas do not come with cheese, it is extra. I have never had to order cheese with fajitas anywhere else, let alone pay for it separately. The waitress explained that the up charge for the condiments was not a mistake. Just wanted to give everyone a heads up, do not order any extra anything or you will pay out for it! Not a good...
