Big Lots — Local services in Penn Township

Today my husband and I had the pleasure of meeting Melissa, who is by far one of the most kind, understanding and professional individual's you'll encounter!!! We're purchasing a new home next week. At the moment Big Lots has a great promotion - spend $1000 get $200 off. However, the timeline was not accommodating with all moving parts. I was afraid, I would miss the sale price because of scheduling. However, Melissa was assisting another customer and informed she would be right back. Not a second later, with the hand truck in tow, she stopped and said, "How can I help?" I explained my situation above and told her that I could pay for the furniture today, however I would not be able to pick-up until 8 days out. Without hesitation she replied, "We can hold your pieces until 10/10." I was floored, happy and relieved! Sometimes a person doesn't know how much that one bit of kindness has helped a person in an enormous way. Melissa willingness to help and talk me through the process was amazing. Purchased new couch was completely broken once unpackaged legs broke and arm rest snapped. Was told by store they have no more in stock would have to drive 2 a different state for a new one or take a display 45 min away for replacement. Would not trade for same couch for different color. When purchased was on sale now they want double price for a different piece. After renting a trailer giving away my old couch and delivering it home having people helping i had to take take there only option discounted price of taking 168 dollars off. Never again. They new it was broke when they gave it to me as it was plastic wrap was taped...

Gone down hill in the last 5 months. Prices went up a bit, which is okay....but the store is badly organized, so that it is difficult to find things that were easily located before. Used to shop there regularly (at least once a month) to stock up on things...been there twice since the change - first time, I couldn't find the items I needed - dog food and cat food, so I went to Walmart. Second time, I got Nonni's and left...went looking for the cream my mom loves, but left without it as I could not located it. Hate to go to Walmart for everything I bought at Big Lots, but there is no other option....other than the Dollar Tree...
