After doing dinner in Downtown Hapeville I needed a sweet fix. After doing a search on Yelp I stumbled upon Jake's Ice Cream. As Jake's Ice Cream is right next to the Downtown area I decided to walk over.
Jake's Ice Cream sits in the back of the main strip but is super easy to find. Along with the easy find, there is also ample parking available.
Walking into Jake's Ice Cream the location is super bright. The brightness puts you in a happy place as you are hit with the smells of the sweet cream and waffle cones. The ambiance is vibrant and fun. The is seating indoors as well as a few tables outside. This is the perfect location for any occasion.
As I was basking in the goodness of the smells I walked up to the freezer and was excited by every flavor I saw. LoL! As I was in the mood for every single flavor, I decided to do the Red Velvet Cheesecake Ice Cream in a cup.
All I know is, my cup was full. I blinked. My cup was empty. I think the ice cream evaporated. lol. In all seriousness though, my ice cream was amazing. It was smooth, creamy, and perfectly sweetened. The ratio of red velvet to vanilla ice cream was perfect as each flavor was represented and sat well with the cheesecake decadence. Whoever made this blend understands the power of portion control and creamy goodness.
I decided to sit outside as I enjoyed my ice cream which added a sense of summer to my fall experience.
All in all, Jake's Ice Cream is amazing and this will not be my last time. I have so many more...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis place could use some work. We stopped by after visiting the area for our kidsā jiu jitsu tournament and it was a big disappointment. There was only one young girl working and we had a family of 5. She was nice and all but she seemed to have difficulty in scooping out all our orders taking at least 20 mins or more! Then the amount and portion of ice cream she scooped in each cone was so measly it wasnāt even a full scoop - it was barely a scoop! I almost wanted to say out loud āthatās all??ā I got a single scoop while my kids got a kids scoop and I basically got the same amount as them and they didnāt even have much to begin with! Wish I had taken a picture because it def seemed like we got sort changed. I think she just got tired of trying to scoop it out because the ice cream was so hard so she just scooped out the bare minimum. Weāve never been shorted that much ice cream which it really was more of an icy frozen ice cream than a milk/cream based ice cream so wasnāt as filling. We also had people waiting after us and we felt so bad because she was taking so long doing our familyās orders. Another woman was in line after them and she left because of how long it took. Def needed more than one employee to run this place. Not sure how long this place has been opened because it was pretty sparse inside. Save your money.. Def would never...

Our son has been a little picky lately when it comes to ice cream and he REALLY enjoyed the blue ice cream and then also gave the tropical sorbet I had a thumbs up. My husband and I both had the salted caramel as well and agreed that it was one of the best flavors we've ever had. It was a simple, rich (without being heavy), creamy, and authentic salted caramel flavor. The butta fingah was excellent as well. Sometimes candy bar ice cream flavors are too focused on the candy bar and the actual ice cream part gets lost. But this was a really good balance between having candy bar in every bite, but without it being overwhelming and feeling like you're just eating a whole butterfinger bar. I'm really intrigued by the Delta Delight flavor and the Sangria sorbet. Can't wait to come back and try them soon! Also shout-out to the person who was working when we stopped by. He was so friendly, professional, accommodating, and knowledgeable that my husband thought he was the owner. He knew details about every flavor and shared some interesting details. We'll certainly be back to enjoy ice...
