My stay was horrible. The hotel staff pack up all my personal belongings, ($4000 in electronics and merchandise) and cleaned out my room although I placed the "NO CLEANING SERVICE" sign on my door, and I was staying a second night. My husband and I stayed at the Residence Inn for two (2) nights on April 5-7, 2017. We had a separate reservation for each night and were utilizing our rewards certificate because we are Silver Elite members. When I made the reservations, I informed the registration clerk that I was using two (2) rewards certificates for my stay and was informed that it would be annotated on my reservation. Upon check-in, I informed the clerk that we were there for two (2) nights, but had a separate reservations for each night and she ask for our credit card for incidentals. On April 6, we left our room around 12 noon, and returned at 5:00 p.m. and discovered all of our belongings were gone. Furious, and upset, we immediately went to the front desk to informed them of the "Theft" and was told that we were scheduled to check out and didn't, so they removed all of our belonging from the room. I reminded them that we were scheduled for two nights with separate reservations as I informed them upon check-in.. The front desk stated they tried to call me, but no answer, so they had no choice but to remove my belonging because I still needed to check out and check in again. We were so furious and in disbelief that a hotel would invade our privacy and touch our belongings without our consent. I informed them that we use our reward certificates every year for two (2) nights with separate reservations and has never been told we needed to check out and check back in, and if so, they should have informed us of their "new policy" on check-in. They stated they were following policy. I noted that no one emailed me in attempt to contact me since all of my contact from Residence Inn has been through email (reservations, receipts, etc.) and there was no receipt under my door stating that I was checked out from a one (1) night stay. And we also had our credit card on file incidentals, in which they could have charged me for another day. No one leaves their room with thousands of dollars of merchandise in the room without the intent on coming back. I asked to speak to the manager and was told that he was out of town and would return on Monday and given his email address. We a still awaiting on a call from the GM, left...
Read moreStayed at this location because of it's location and space- needed a suite with two bedrooms. Prior to leaving home, I requested extra pillows and blanket- son was sleeping in living room. I also stated that I would like a room that was pet free since my family are allergic to dog and cat hair. I was emailed messages back but nothing addressed the two items above. Our flight was late leaving BWI, so we did not get to hotel until about 1-130A. I was told then that pets could have been in every room in the hotel and was asked if i wanted to see if there was another hotel that i wanted to check out before checking in to this one......at 130a- WOW. I was told that the best housekeeper cleaned that room and it should be fine. It seemed ok since no one had any reactions. We get to room and the entrace door stuck opening and had to be forced with a shoulder shove. The room was very dated but had some updates. I was glad to see a fireplace since it was cold. NEVER EVER EVER have a been at another RI and if it had a fireplace, it was not fueled with gas and a switch to flip to turn it on. This one was a real fireplace and we needed to purchase a log or whatever from the front desk to have a fireplace. Really I guess if we smoked up the room, since most people don't have real fireplaces and didn't open the flue. I could have used it, but at $200+ a night, you should have given me the fuel for the fireplace. You are also CHARGING me to park on your lot. The display about the hotel says FREE Parking- IT IS NOT- $8 per day and they do charge it. I do not understand why it is not included it price and if you don't have a car (vehicle) reduce price by same $8. The breakfast was very run of the mill and not appealling. We also had to call because we were not getting hot water. Maintenance came and he was baffled as to why we could not get consistant hot water. The room my wife and I stayed in was a peek-a-boo room. The bedroom had double doors but the curtains in the doors, but allowed for no privacy if lights were on. Mattress on the pull out was dirty. As stated earlier, the entrance door stuck and would not close correctly. The outside of teh door also had Trick or Treat in red marker that was not cleaned off well. You get one time to make a first impression. My impression....NOT to return unless there is no other hotel in area to meet my needs. Would...
Read moreUpon arriving from Chicago, I asked Sabrina if it was possible for us to get an early check in...she stated that no rooms were available. After speaking with her for about five minutes, she stated that a room had become available in which I was thankful for. While settling in, I noticed that there were bugs near the fireplace, the arm chair had spots on it / the legs were broken and the closet wall in the living area had a hole in it (I have pictures of all). I go to the main desk, Sabrina has a gentlemen with very long dreads to come check out the room, he does. He and I go back to the main lobby where Sabrina blatantly disregards EVERYTHING that I am stating and goes only by what his impression of what the room was. He stated that he did see a hole in the door, that the chair wasn't dirty to him and that the legs were meant to bend and that he did not see any bugs. I mentioned that there were no bugs at the time because I had killed them. I asked Sabrina if I could switch rooms, she stated that there were no other rooms but that I could have my money refunded and try to find another hotel. Considering, we didn't want to have to search for a another hotel and not find one was not an option for us.
I then had questions relating to the gate, going out the machine tells you to place your key card inside to exit but coming in , it doesn't say so I was taking a ticket to have the gate open. I went to the lobby to ask Sabrina but she wasn't sure. LeQuita walked me all the way to the gate to help but she wasn't sure so she called Jarek and he explained that although the machine doesn't say to enter the key card, we should enter it for the gate to open and do not take a ticket because we would be charged.
I wake up Monday morning, pull the cover back to wake up the kid and an ant was crawling in the bed. I take a shower, a bug was crawling on the wall and a big black wasp bug was crawling on the floor. I go to the lobby, Sabrina hears what happened then asks if I would like to move to another room. I asked my family but they stated that we would stay in current room because there may be bugs in the other room as well.
Pool locked and told that it was not the season for the pool to be opened. It was 85 degrees, how is that not the season...it was definitely the right temperature. Online or Sabrina never mentioned that the pool would...
