Food was good except the huge chunks of peppers in the fajitas couldn't really use them on the tortillas. First off we sat down, we were given chips and salsa immediately but no menus. Few minutes later she came back with menus and left again without taking our drink orders, she came back like 45 seconds later wanting to take our food order, we told her we needed a few minutes and she left again, still no drink orders we called her over asked if we could order drinks, she took that order then was gone about 3 minutes, she came back without drinks took out order and was gone again. I ordered house margarita and my daughter ordered a strawberry daquari because she loves them there. Fast forward to her bringing our drinks, no salt on rim it was all over the side like a half inch from rim and only on one side. Second complaint on drinks was the daquari, she made it with Malibu, my daughter is allergic to coconuts, it was never made with Malibu before, obviously or she wouldn't order it. She proceeded to tell us thats how you make daquaris.....So next complaint is I asked for queso like I always do, she brought the small bowl of queso up and it wasn't even half full. Once we had our food and a different drink for my daughter she checked on us 1 time. She was too busy having a conversation with another table the whole time we were there, my daughter even had to go up to register to get our bill and to go boxes. I've always loved going to little Mexico, both locations never had a issue, but this last time at the smaller location, I was not impressed, might be a bit before I...
Read moreWe decided to try Little Mexico while visiting family in Cadillac. Based on a recommendation from a friend, we expected affordable food with affordable-food quality (a "you get what you paid for" deal.) To say we were surprised is a massive understatement.
We had a party of 8, so we asked if we were able to push a few tables together. The staff couldn't have been more accommodating! They remained attentive and friendly, even with a large party in a small restaurant.
The food was great. We were provided an endless supply of chips and salsa while we waited for our food, which didn't take long at all. The authenticity of the menu items makes Little Mexico a go-to place for anyone looking to try something new. Everyone was pleased with what they ordered. And the churros! Oh the churros. Our waiter recommended we get them, and though I usually pass off dessert offers, he seemed genuine when he said they're the best he's ever had. He was right.
Next time you're in the area, give it a try. Don't be put off by the small size of the restaurant; it has a big heart.
Little Mexico is a true hidden gem...
Read moreWhat a great find by my wife after all restaurants in Traverse City was packed till midnight! (SMH) We have been to Mexico City and Puebla for multiple times and we're always on the lookout for authentic and delicious Mexican cuisine. This place is IT. The smell after you walk through the front door is no joke. The tacos el pastor has freshly diced pineapples in them ( the same way as people cook it in Puebla), and the barbacoa, though a bit dry, was full of flavor. Oh did I mention the horchata was great? I smelled churros and asked the gentleman if they serve it, and for $3.99 they did not disappoint! Very hot and crispy, just how we liked it. As we were not able to travel to Mexico this year, this has been the closest experience we had so far. Oh, just be careful asking for hot sauce. Their hot sauce...
