Ordered 16 items through drive-thru. After paying, the drive-thru cashier asked me to pull to front of restaurant even though no one was behind me in the drive-thru. Asked the cashier if I pulled to the front, would the associate who brings out the food stay while I make sure the food is correct because I don't want to have to go into the restaurant which is why I went through drive-thru. She said yes. Two females came out to my vehicle with one bag each in their hands. I let them know I would check the food before they leave and was told no, they have to go back in. No one had name tags on, so I do not know anyone's name. I explained that the drive-thru girl assured me that they could. I explained that if 2 associates could bring out food, at least one could stay so I could verify real quick that the food is correct. She argued that they couldn't for about 2 minutes, and I let her know I could have already checked the food while she was standing there arguing with me. She told me to have a good day, and they both walked back into the store. I then proceeded to check the food with the help of my 18 year old son, and the large cheddar curds and large chili cheese fries were not in the bag. I knew that was going to happen. So, I proceeded to gather all the food and shakes/drink and take it back in for a full refund. The main female who refused to allow me to verify the meal proceeded to stay in the back of the restaurant until I left. The manager processed my return, and I told her what had happened. I don't appreciate being told it's okay, then told the opposite when the food is brought out. I don't appreciate attitude for me wanting to be sure I got what I paid for from the beginning. I don't appreciate the drive-thru girl not verifying my meal before asking me to pull to the front of the restaurant. I don't appreciate the workers not wearing badges for...
Read moreAte here for the first time after wanting to give this place a shot and enjoyed my meal a good deal. I had the bacon and cheese double burger, the chili cheese dog, a spicy chicken sandwich, and the PBC & B Custard Sundae.
The burger was good. Definitely a step-up from your more standardized fast-food, and it definitely tasted prepared rather than "assembled", if that makes sense. Greasy, cheesy, and messy, but not in a bad way. Hits the spot if you're in the mood for it, for sure.
The dog was good, especially considering there's not many fast-food options for a chili dog. Good link, good bun that wasn't soggy covered in chili, and a nice size, too.
The spicy chicken sandwich was alright, nothing to write home about. I prefer the chicken sandwiches from Cane's/Chick-fil-A, personally, but this one wasn't bad.
The fries were good, just not my style. I'm not a fan of shoestring, personally, they're more of a nuisance to grab large amounts of to dip, but that's a flaw of the design, not of the way they're prepared at Freddy's. The fries tasted good, and were perfectly cooked. Not floppy and soggy, like Cane's, unfortunately.
The custard was also very good, and was a nice capstone to the meal. Im no custard connoisseur by any means, but I enjoyed what I had and would order it again, albeit a different flavor.
Would definitely recommend giving this place a shot if you haven't already. Price was good for the amount of food I ordered, and I would (and...

On a recent trip through Texas, I stopped by Freddy's Frozen Custard and Steakburgers in Harker Heights, and I must say, it was a great experience.
The restaurant was very colorful, clean, and welcoming, with excellent service. The staff was quick and attentive, which made the visit even more enjoyable.
I ordered a double steak burger, a bacon\cheeseburger, fries, and one of their custards. The food was well-seasoned, well-prepared, and very tasty. They offer a lightweight smash burger style, and it really works. The custard was a nice treat to top off the meal.
Freddy's is moderately priced and economical, making it a solid option for individuals and families looking a good meal without breaking the bank. If I find myself back in Harker Heights, I’ll definitely stop in again.
This was my second time visiting the area, and Freddy's left a positive impression. Highly recommend it for a quick and satisfying meal!
Respectfully, G *my...
